McAlister's Deli — Restaurant in Clarksville

I usually get TERRIFIC service when i pick up my lunch or dinner here. The young gentleman that answered the phone actually greeted me with "Hello Melena! Wecome back! how can i help you today?!" First name, and pronounced correctly, that really impressed me, thats the first time that had happened. Then, it started going downhill from there. I guess everyone was off their game this evening. I was on the phone for over 10 minutes, talked to 3 different people, which none took my order, and ended up in the parking lot before i could even place a to go order on the phone. Ridiculous! Once inside the restaurant there was 1 person at the register and a lady with 3 small children in front of me. Not busy and at least 4 or 5 employees standing around talking to one another. Then eventually, 3 families were behind me in line, all 3 families placed their order, chose tables to sit while they waited on their dinners, i only ordered half a pound of their Harvest Chicken Salad (they have the BEST in town in my opinion)and 2 croissants (2 scoops in a cup, and its a cold item of course), the 3 families had their food and was about to leave before i got my order, well at least the correct items, correct amount, and a special request, which was to have 2 croissants wrapped in seran wrap individually and the Harvest Chicken Salad in 2 seperate containers. None of that happened, plus i didnt have the correct amount of the Harvest Chicken Salad. Once the employees making the food was told to seperate the Harvest Chicken Salad and wrap the croissants individually, 1 female employee got angry and not only embarrassed herself but me as well. After my order was correct i was talking to the mgr. on duty, who was involved with my whole inside experience, i also let her know that i was on the phone waiting to place my to go order for over 10 min and 3 different employees that couldn't help me. So for all my troubles she offeted me a cookie, which i had already purchased 3 of. Wow! Thanks...

The good: Food was tasty, Club was huge and very good, store was clean and quiet. Most of the staff was friendly. The not so good: $33 for 2 people!!! We mistakenly read at the top of the menu that sandwiches include a side. I ordered caesar salad with my chicken sandwich and my daughter ordered fruit cup with hers. The salad was an additional $5 upcharge and fruit was $1.50. We did also add avocado knowing it costs extra. No drinks!! TO BE FAIR: The person who explained the upcharge and showed me where that was shown on the counter offered to reimburse me. I declined because it was my mistake, not theirs. Secondly, we ordered to-go and were told they would call our name when it was ready. We sat at the first table next to the counter. 25 minutes later after multiple people had come and gone we asked about our food and it was sitting on the counter with the carryout orders. Our name was never called. Overall we felt like it was way too expensive and a waste of our time. I get a $2 upcharge for a salad but $5 is ridiculous. To top it off I didn't get my bbq sauce or pickle. We went because it was convenient. We will never go back. For $33 we can get full sit down meals and have leftovers and our...

My daughter and I ordered baked potatoes. We were told it would be 20 minutes before they would be ready. We agreed to the wait time. Other people around us had their baked potatoes delivered to their seats in 20 minutes, as promised. I waited another 10 minutes before asking about our order. They seemed pretty busy, so we were patiently waiting. I waited at the counter another 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged I was there to ask where our potatoes were. A nice young man went back to check on the order. He didn’t come back for 10 minutes, but he did have our potatoes. So we waited a total of 50 minutes for two potatoes. If I had known it would take that long I would not have agreed to stay. We sat down to eat and we didn’t have any utensils. I went back up to the counter and waited another 5 minutes for forks.
