Meraki Cocktail Cafe — Restaurant in Cleveland Heights

The place itself is absolutely beautiful!! The only thing I didn't like was that the front doors were locked but you could walk right in off the street through where people were seated. Should be some kind of blocking right there. The DJ the night we went (Friday 9/26) was doing his thang!! Really enjoyed the music. Where it went down was the actual service. When we walked in, one of the bartenders was actually on the floor delivering drinks to someone and I know she saw us come in. Then I realized it looked like there were only 2 of them working behind the bar. We joined another couple that was already there who had drinks and received food about 15 minutes into us getting there. We had no one come to ask about drinks after being there for approximately 20 minutes so my husband ended up going to the bar. After finally getting the attention of one of the young ladies, and actually getting my drink, I noticed he seemed to be having a back and forth conversation with the bartender and it didn't look good. After he paid and he came back to the table I asked what happened and he said he just needed her to make his drink the way he asked. It seemed as if it was an issue for her. We both had only one drink and ended up leaving. Service was too long ( for us)that night. I was also turned off when I noticed there was an 18% gratuity added to each check. So if you start one, leave the tab open and don't close it until you are absolutely done. I wouldn't mind paying the gratuity if we were getting the service to go along with it. Anywhere we go, we always tip way over so we can make sure the bartender comes right back to us. I was so disappointed because I really wanted to try the food and did not get to.We left and went somewhere else and got way better service, drinks...

The worst service I have ever received in a Cleveland restaurant/bar.. I sat at the bar on a Tuesday night (not busy whatsoever) and did not get acknowledged by the two young girls behind the bar for 15 minutes. They were smoking hookah and taking shots which is completely unprofessional and not a good look for any establishment. As a bartender who has worked in the industry for quite some time, I can assure you that customer service is what keeps your patrons coming back. Unfortunately the service was so piss poor that I personally will not be.. The decor was cute and the DJ was pretty dope! I never saw a menu because I was never given one… so no...

I will never go to this bar again bartenders are horrible this is more of a friend's only if I know you I will serve you kind of bar false advertisement menu looks nice but never got a chance to try food because the cook told bartender to say they were out of food at 3:30pm so a case of workers that don't like their job or a owner who doesn't care to keep stocked up for paying customers.. not a place I would want to wine down and relax!!! I RECOMMEND NEW HEIGHTS GRILL DIAGONALLY ACROSS THE STREET.. AWESOME SERVICE GREAT FOOD my first time at both of these locations needless to say second...
