Banana Blossom Thai Cuisine — Restaurant in Cleveland

Oh gosh!! So disappointed. Busy early Sunday evening 4:50 pm. The food took a painfully long time. No refill or water brought to table. It seemed I was annoying the waitress to ask for things she should have brought or asked as part of service standards. Started with the Tom Yum soup with shrimp. Truly delicious. Mine was a tad over room temperature and my husband’s was very warm and a proper temperature -didn’t complain. I was starving by the time it came and just ate it! Then waited and waited and our food came out. I had chicken Pad Thai, also very good. My Husband had drunken noodles. They were cold! Truly cold as if it had been sitting . Mine was piping hot and very good. We flagged the waitress and she basically denied it was cold. The plates for some reason are extremely cold. She tried blaming it that he was feeling the plate and not the food. I piped up and interjected that the food itself indeed is actually cold! She grabbed it and left without any verbal remedy. Again, took a while to return, so my husband shared my dinner. They clearly just microwaved it or tossed around in a pan - But it didn’t quite taste right. Additionally there really not any noodles and the serving size was quite a bit smaller than mine. Both noodle dishes. , No offer to remove from bill, no apology, no drink refill. Had to ask for the check when we clearly were done eating. No check back. We didn’t eat the drunken noodles. They just tasted unpleasant. She could see the plate went untouched.

After I asked for the check, she dropped it off and I said thank you, and she turned hastily and left. No you’re welcome. No thank you, no nothing.

Decided to try Banana Blossom Thai because it was recommended to me through my Airbnb host. I am so glad I did.

My first time, I ordered takeout on a Wednesday night. I ordered the crispy rolls, crab rangoon (smaller rolls in the picture), and their spicy Pad Thai. Ordering over the phone was quick but I did have to wait an extra 10 mins when I arrived because my Pad Thai was made with peanuts (I am allergic and that was stated when I ordered) but the cook caught the mistake and was quick to fix it before I left.

My favorite item out of everything I ordered was the crab rangoon. Literally 15/10! I was originally confused when I opened the box but I love that they are in a roll because when you bite into them you get an equal balance of crunchy and creamy and they were main reason I went back two more times during my stay. The pad thai was good but not my favorite. It wasn’t spicy to my liking but I still enjoyed it. Keep in mind I cannot eat peanuts so that may change the flavor that other people have when trying their pad thai.

I did end up ordering the next two nights. I ordered their crab rangoon and their miso sweet chili wings. The chili wings were also a 15/10!! Good balance of flavors and the chicken was crispy but still tender and came off the bone so easily.

I would definitely recommend and will be back to try other items...

Really relaxed upbeat Thai spot offering a lot of variety of super delicious full, vegetarian, and vegan options. Great for a group of friends to chill and catch up without breaking the bank. Service is awesome but parking can be tough (as is to be expected in the area). Offers dine in and take out which works. Would recommend!

Awesome chill spot for small groups (4 to 6) to relax with some awesome variety of Thai food. Vegan and vegetarian options are great with many varieties. Their regular options are super delicious as well. And you can modify dishes if needed, just ask. Price wise it is not bad at all with some really delicious food.

Service is really friendly and nothing to complain about, didnt have to wait for someone to come over. Parking can be tough if you go during peak hours (mostly street parking). Atmosphere is really relaxed with a mild upbeat vibe. The bar is pretty awesome as well.

It can get a little noisy at times depending on the crowd and the time, but is awesome for just relaxing or catching up with others. Is on the smaller side in terms of number of tables, but that's what makes it really chill. And if you're just looking for the food then you can order takeout and pick up.
