As an out-of-towner staying at a corporate living building close by, I can certainly say I've never been ignored, the two gentlemen I've always seen working there are extremely kind and always smiling, and I feel they always try to elevate not only their coffee but their customer service too. It's also EXTREMELY COST EFFECTIVE. My god, I've never saved so much on quality beans; seriously. I found this place by accident. I was walking along Euclid when I first arrived, lost and being pelted by rain, and I caught a glimpse of their window from the street. It's so tiny and quaint you might miss it. There's only enough sitting room for two tables: one always occupied by people quietly playing chess and the other by a crew of patrons laughing and cutting up with the staff. If you're a patient person, you can wait your turn as they do their best to impressively maneuver in what I always imagine as all of us being crammed into 1 square foot, and be greeted with a smile and some awesome coffee. They always have pro-level advice about how to order if you aren't a coffee connoisseur like most who frequent. Located right outside of a huge building, nestled into a cozy space, is the best coffee on the block(and Starbucks is basically right across the street). Do yourself a favor...
Read moreI could care less about atmosphere unless I’m looking to hang out. This is like a closet so there isn’t any atmosphere but that’s ok. I have standards when it comes to coffee. I have an espresso machine at home that is much less fancy than the one here. I have a roaster and roast my own coffee so it’s fresh. I’m picky about the type of beans and origin. So I went to the closest place with the best ratings. Usually works but not this time. I ordered regular latte because I really wanted to taste the espresso and have a creamy smooth result. First I’m not sure the guy there was a barista. I didn’t see him tamp down the ground beans before running the espresso. Ugh. If he did it was super fast and probs not enough. Then it looked like he was steaming the milk right but when finished he literally just dumped it into the espresso! No slow pour. No attempt at keeping the milk and foam separate. I could literally have done better at Starbucks and I don’t really like Starbucks. I had a latte recently at Dunkin that compared to this. I won’t be back. I should have dumped the latte and gone elsewhere but I stubbornly drank it. 😔 plenty of other places nearby...
Read moreExcellent coffee! James (owner and barista) has a huge personality and loves what he does. The cafe is currently tucked away inside of an apartment building on the main floor so it's easy to miss unless you know it's there. James is great at tweaking and customizing a drink to fit your caffeine need and flavor interests that day. He doesn't throw away the extra, he's given me an extra medium before because he made too much and that's also how I tried it the first time when my coworkers got an extra affogato( no idea if I'm spelling that right).
The prices are reasonable especially if you consider that it's probably one of the best coffee shops in Cleveland. Things I've had is the lavender lemonade, affogato (sp?) Which is soft serve icecream in a couple shots of espresso, a black tea of some kind, frappes, lattes, and the Americano. I love to get extra espresso because the flavor is amazing.
I'm slowly taking everyone at work there at least once and most people end up taking others. I pretty much just expect to go there around 3 times a week when I lay out my budget.
I generally am not overly enthusiastic about things but this place is worth...
