I went here on a Friday night with my husband and another couple for their soft opening. The location was easy to find and we had ample parking for 6:00 p.m. reservation.
We did have to locate our server after we were all seated. It took a good 20 minutes or so to get her attention so that we could order cocktails. We ordered the cauliflower bites and the wings as appetizers the garlic parmesan was quite tasty and the cauliflower bites are very good.
Dinner delivery was a bit scattered, it was like they didn't know what went where. That was a bit amusing to me as three of us ordered the chicken and mac and cheese and only one person ordered the crab cakes.
The crab cakes are far too small to be considered an entree. There were two of them at the side of the plate and although the presentation was beautiful, it wouldn't satisfy a child. Our friend had to order a salad on top of it in order to feel like she had enough food. The chicken mac and cheese was average. The presentation was pretty, but the taste itself was nothing mind-blowing.
They ran out of the herbed chicken which the majority of us wanted for dinner which was disappointing. And the server didn't tell us before we ordered, so we had to scramble for a backup choice.
The restaurant was absolutely freezing and the music was loud enough that it made conversation a little difficult. I definitely understand that they are going for a young and hip vibe, but it's 6:00 I didn't expect to be shouting over thumping music. They had a DJ that started around 8:00 as we were getting ready to leave. It was a good music selection, if it was a little bit lower in volume, I would have enjoyed it more.
The restaurant itself is much smaller than it appears in photos, but everywhere you turn is good for a selfie. They even have a space that is solely dedicated to taking social media pictures.
We noticed on our bill that they added 20% gratuity on our bill without our consent as a party of four. So review your...
Read moreMy friend and I were excited for our reservation for Filter. We love trying new places. We were reserved for 6pm but arrived at 540 on 7/9. Not many people were there, a couple people at the Bar and one large party of about 10 in the back. It took a while to even get waters or a menu, but we didn't care at that point. The inside was gorgeous and we chatted until the waitress came. There was a child kinda bouncing around, he clearly belonged to someone who worked there. The waitress came took our drink and appetizer order, then disappeared for another period of time. Came back 15-20 minutes later said the system did something and that our order was just now being put in. We waited another 15-20 min and were brought 2 of the same appetizer to which the waitress seemed very confused by, we just agreed to take it and pay for it. We sat there in total 1 hour and 10 minutes and no one got our entree order or even stopped to check on us. The waitress knew we wanted entrees because we asked about what was good. (to which she replied the pasta and catfish) She hurried by our table and said our food was coming out but me and my friend were incredibly confused because no one had taken our order. By the time she got back to us and we informed her of that we were ready for the bill, which we asked to be split and the waitress acted as if that was too much to handle. So I paid $60 and some change for 2 appetizers, 1 we didn't even order, and 2 drinks. I paid and we told her we were leaving because we could not wait another hour for food. We walked to another place down the street (Mallorca) and were eating within 15 minutes from walking in the door. All in all I probably wouldn't risk my luck again, I can't imagine what goes on when they have...
Read moreMothers Day was our first time visiting this restaurant for Brunch. Online says the brunch hours are 1-4pm but when at the restaurant we were told brunch is from 1-3pm. We ordered the mimosa tower, 2 chicken and waffles, 1 fish and grits. On the menu it says Belgian Waffle, so we were under the impression Belgian meant 1 large waffle but instead there was 3 very small waffles and 3 pieces of small chicken wings. The fish and grits had shrimp on the plate and my associate is allergic to shrimp, of course we informed the server and she said she would take care of it on the bill and have the kitchen remake another one. At that time I also ordered a second fish and grits. While waiting on the food, a completely different server comes to our table stating that we needed to leave or basically hurry up and finish because they had reservations at 4pm and needed the tables. We were completely caught off guard because 1. Who are you? No type of greeting. 2. Why are we being rushed as paying customers? 3. The brunch hours are wrong. 4. Where is the food we ordered? 5. Where is our server? So, after further discussion, our server sent another server over to us to relay that message. After a few apologies we were upset and unsatisfied with the service and the way we were treated and our day could have been ruined if a allergic reaction was caused but thankfully she had her medication available. I do not suggest ordering the waffle and chicken for $26 only because of proportion size. And I also wanted to order yams but the server said that’s only available for lunch. The grits and fish was a nice amount for the price and was good but would’ve been better if we...
