๐ Ultimate Guide to Hidden Gems in Cleveland! ๐

Cleveland, Ohio has a thriving craft beer scene. The majority of the breweries in the city are less than five years old, but there are some veterans among them and the oldest of them all is Great Lakes Brewing. Great Lakes Brewing isnโt just the oldest craft brewery in the area, it is also one of the nationโs oldest craft breweries and if you didnโt already know this, you will know it when you visit and take a tour. The history of the brewery is on display in the Symposium, which is located across the street from the production brewery and is the place where you purchase your tour tickets. The tour is priced low and includes four, 5- ounce samples of beer, so it is an excellent deal. After you brush up on the history of Great Lakes Brewing, a guide will walk you across the street to visit the actual brewhouse. Itโs a very large place, producing around 150k barrels of beer each year. In addition to brewing beer, the building has meeting rooms for private gatherings, so donโt be surprised if you see and hear other events taking place when you tour. Great Lakes Brewing also has a brewpub adjacent to the symposium and many guests go directly to the brewpub for more beer and food following the tour, or before the tour. You will likely want to, because the samples they serve are certain to whet your appetite for more. There are several classic beers in the lineup that have stood the test of time and a nice variety overall. The samples, though, are perfect to let guests sort out which they like best before continuing to the brewpub. Breweries number in the thousands and are located across this great land of ours. Most of them are young, but Great Lakes Brewing is one of the pioneers; a brewery that has been brewing delicious craft suds for three decades. It is definitely deserving of a visit the next time youโre in Cleveland, Ohio.

First I must say parking around here is awful but it's in the historic Ohio City district of Cleveland. Normally that knocks off a star for me but this place makes up for the inconvenience. When you see inside this building it is historic and they do what they can to keep it that way. Staff are great and are extremely knowledgeable about the beer they serve and will be honest about a dish they serve. Shocking not every is amazing to them on the menu and I appreciate their honesty. Menu is a decent size and they run daily specials. What you will notice is local sourced ingredients which exposes you to other things Cleveland. Bertman's mustard comes to mind. The beer has the local staples that they have year around but they also rotate seasonal brews that rotate in and out every few months. And to top this off they will also have one off brews that they are experimenting with. Tours. If you want to see how and where it's all made tours are right across the street from the bar and restaurant. Call and make an appointment they fill up fast. Great Lakes Brewery is a Cleveland staple they help give the city some of it's essence. And they do make sure no two visits here are the same. If you are close or if you are in town for business stop in this place won't disappoint.

This experience was just so so for us. We started off with an appetizer. We ordered the Bavarian pretzel, which was very good. The pretzel was soft and not chewy. The beer cheese that came with it was great as well. The food we ate after the appetizer was hit and miss. My wife ordered the hot buttered chicken sandwich. I'm pretty disappointed with this one. If you look at the pictures, it is the one that looks like a hamburger, which is what I thought it was when it came out. There was nothing Nashville hot about this. Not much of a butter flavor, either. It's just bland with a taste of fryer oil. It did come with pickle slices, which were pretty good though. My son ordered chicken nuggets from the kids' menu. We also had an issue with one of his nuggs, but the manager took care of it for us. For the chicken sandwich and the nuggs, they both ordered fries as their side. The fries were amazing. Somewhat crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The perfect seasoning on them as well. I ordered the West side mac. Though it didn't seem like a mac and cheese so much as it did an alfredo dish, it was the star of what we ordered. I would get it again for sure. It had grilled chicken in it, which was cooked perfectly, and pieces of bacon as well. The bacon had a great taste. A little crunch and a little smokeyness. The cheese was creamy and full of flavor. The gouda really pulled through. All 3 of us liked this dish the best. Our server was good and took care of us with no issues. We ate outside on the patio, which was really nice as well. I dont think it was the best we've had, but it wasn't even close to the worst. It's pretty much right down the middle. Overall, for me, I would recommend giving this place a try.

I recently visited the Great Lakes Brewery Restaurant, and it was a unique experience that highlighted the brewery's true star: the beer. While the food is certainly enjoyable, it feels more like a supporting cast to the main event, which is the impressive selection of craft beers they offer. The atmosphere of the restaurant is vibrant and inviting, making it a great place to relax with friends and enjoy a pint. The beer menu is extensive, showcasing a variety of options that cater to different tastes, from hoppy IPAs to rich stouts. Each sip is a testament to the brewery's commitment to quality and flavor. As for the food, it's solid but not the main attraction. The dishes are designed to complement the beer rather than steal the spotlight. While you can certainly find some tasty options to enjoy with your drink, I wouldn't recommend visiting solely for the food. It's best to think of it as a tasty accompaniment to your beer experience. Overall, Great Lakes Brewery Restaurant is a fantastic destination for beer lovers. If you're looking to sample some delicious craft brews in a lively atmosphere, this place is worth a visit. Just keep in mind that the food is meant to enhance your beer experience, not outshine it!

What can I say, this is one of the best local craft Breweries in the country. An absolute MUST stop and visit brewery if your into craft brews. From Eliot Ness (pictured) to Chill Wave (we have a 1/2 barrel keg of C.W. On tap at home) to Great Lakes Christmas ale, Great Lakes has some of the BEST beers for these styles hands down. The Chill Wave could possibly be one of the best beers of all time! We love this place for the excellent drinks, the beautiful scenery and surroundings and how EASY it is to build long everlasting memories at Great Lakes Brewing Company. Now if we could get GLBC to sponsor our wedding for stellar review lol jk Absolutely love GLBC the atmosphere/old charm of GLBC is perfect and so are the brews. Our waiter last night with the arm tattoo was AWESOME! Didnโt catch her name but THANKS for the great service! Oh and please bring back the Raspberry Holy Moses!
