I am absolutely appalled by the treatment I received at Koffie Cafe in Ohio City. As a paying customer, I expect to be treated with respect and courtesy, but instead, I was belittled and made to feel stupid by the barista.
When I placed my order for a Dirty Chai Latte with three shots of espresso, the barista gave me a weird look and made a negative comment about my order. She asked "who would order three shots of espresso?" while laughing, which made me feel embarrassed and uncomfortable in front of the other customers.
To make matters worse, when I said "have a nice day" as I was leaving, the barista ignored me and gave me a rude look. This behavior is completely unacceptable, and I will never return to this establishment again.
I understand that mistakes happen, and not every interaction with a business will be perfect, but the way I was treated at Koffie Cafe is simply unacceptable. As a customer, I deserve to be treated with respect and courtesy, and the barista's behavior fell far short of that standard.
I would strongly caution anyone considering visiting Koffie Cafe in Ohio City to think twice before doing so. If this is how they treat their customers, then they do not deserve anyone's business. There are plenty of other coffee shops in the area that value their customers and provide excellent service, and I will be taking my business elsewhere...
Read moreI saw someone mention the coffee is watery and tasteless, and I came to say the same. I ordered a Bailey's and Coffee which was just watered down whiskey. I couldn't finish it. The patio seating was nice, and I dug the atmosphere. They also offered my dog a pup cup, which she loved.
But I noticed they were hiring and inquired about it out of curiousity while I waited for my coffee. The owner didnt answer any of my questions about their employee benefits, but instead tried to explain what a barista was. I currently work as a barista, so that was weird. When I asked again about their benefits he explained that there were none, and then tried to convince me that due to my age I dont NEED healthcare. The notion that people dont NEED healthcare is absurd, and him offering me a $100 stipend for the year in lieu of health insurance is a joke. I'm a 26 year old with a wife who is self employed. I'm extremely grateful for my job (that pays $4 more an hour than this one, plus tips) and also offers me AND my wife much needed healthcare. My advice to the owner is to respect your workers, they keep your shop afloat.
Dont forget to tip your barista no matter how watered down the coffee is, they're not being...
Read moreNovember 2022: it was a cold, breezy Sunday morning in Cleveland when my family wanted to visit the Westside market. Since we had parked for free in front of the coffee shop, we decided to go in and get something warm to drink. I ordered the turtle Latte, a caramel flavored latte with a hint of walnut that was not too sweet but potent. My wife ordered the toddy with a shot of hazelnut flavor while the kids had hot chocolate. Everything was good.
Pros: Plenty of space inside with ample seating and tables available. Friendly cashier who patiently explained everything to us. Good coffee at decent prices. They have food options available that pair well with coffee.
Cons: Parking can be an issue in Ohio City because it is a bustling area. You can pay for parking near the West Side Market for $5-$10 or park for free a few blocks away and walk a bit.
Conclusion: I...
