We booked an igloo on 1/2/21 in the afternoon. It was a neat experience in the igloo (I imagine it would be even more so in the night on an even colder day). The waitress was really friendly. It was my mistake that as a table of two I didn't realize that the $50 rental fee wasn't calculated in the $150 minimum. I figured we'd both get 2 drinks, a few apps, a meal and maybe need to order a meal to take home. Nope, we had to spend $150 more. Okay, we don't normally splurge or even take a date, so unexpected expense but we didn't try to fret it- but the food was terrible! The chicken and waffles were chewy and flavorless. The cheese plate was about $10 worth of cheese for $50! The margarita was sweet and sour in all of the wrong ways. My husband liked his draft beer- at least there's that! Oh we did like the giant pretzel, and it was a reasonable price. I think maybe sticking with just serving pretzels and draft beer in a pretty igloo would leave nothing to complain about. Avoid order any kind of real food though unless they make some serious changes. And we did have a nice time, but it was the most expensive, terrible food I've ever had.

Today's special Short Rib Melt with spicy coleslaw was delicious! Had a reunion there and really enjoyed the food and service. Also it was right next to the river which created a feeling of being at a far away place. There is a parking right in front of the restaurant (seemed to be part of metroparks), which was super convenient. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 was that the sun was right in my eye and also there was a reflection of the light on the water, creating slight discomfort (and forced me to wear a hat indoors. Wished I had sunglasses). But loved how there was an opportunity to dine indoors or outdoors (my friends and I dined indoors for this visit because the weather was chilly). Would recommend and come back 😊.

My fiancé and I had our first date, our first Valentines Day, and our first anniversary at Merwins Wharf. Now we can’t imagine going anywhere else. We told our waitress and she brought us out a mini bottle of champagne and glasses (no charge!). In a few days we’re celebrating our 2 year anniversary here also 🙂. The food is always so good but I highly recommend trying the Walleye dinner. Every food they have there is tasty and hot. The drinks are good too! While your enjoying your food, drinks and hot date you overlook the Cuyahoga River with beautiful lighting. Not to mention they have igloos on their patio in the winter time. If you haven’t been here yet I definitely recommend going. This place is amazing.

All the food was delicious but the pretzel was really, really good. Definitely going back for the pretzel.

Great food which surprised me for a place run by the Metroparks. Maybe I underestimated them but wow it was really good. The atmosphere and setting were awesome. Such a nice place in the water and the occasional giant barge being pulled by rug boats is cool too.

While there was a 20 to 30 minute wait for an outdoor table at 5 PM on a beautiful Saturday in August, we were able to order some drinks from the bar and then sit on some patio furniture near the river. My son ordered a pulled pork sandwich and I got a turkey wrap. Both were delicious! When you join that good, friendly service and a great view; we will be back. When you think of food at the Cleveland Metro Parks, you either think of bringing your own for a picnic or a concession stand. I never thought they could run a really nice restaurant, but they certainly are!
