An incredible place, steps away from the West Side Market.
This place is a family favorite. Everyone in my family, including my three younger children love it. We have only had the middle-eastern food and haven't ventured on to the "deli" side of the menu.
The dining area is very plain and a bit on the old side. Definitely not a place to go to for the ambiance. But the food more than makes up for it. The hummus (with warm pita from near-by Aladdin's Bakery) is the best we've ever had. The kafta (seasoned beef), shistawook (chicken), and kebob (lamb) wraps are incredibly flavorful. The meat is always perfectly cooked. And the fatoosh salad (lettuce, small pita chips, red-wine vinegar based dressing) is something we can never get enough of.
Service is quick and efficient. Fatoosh and hummus (if ordered) are typically on our table within 5 minutes (or less) of ordering, and our wraps arrive about 10 minutes later.
For first timers: Pay for the meal at the counter. Tell them your table letter and number and they bring up your bill. They accept credit cards.
As an additional treat, enter the restaurant through the back entrance and walk through...
Read moreI am sad to say this was a terrible place. I was told by several people that this is the most authentic Lebanese food I can get in Cleveland, and to my surprise it didn’t even come close. First off we had ordered several sandwiches and dishes. The taouk sandwich was dry and didn’t taste at all like an authentic taouk sandwich in addition to lacking the right marinade. The kafta sandwich was over- cooked and under seasoned. Both sandwiches came with the inappropriate combinations/toppings. And to top it all off, the sandwiches are made in pita bread which is laughable since lebanese sandwiches are made with ARABIC bread not pita bread, and no they aren't the same whatsoever, hence the different names. The fatouch salad is a complete farce. I’m not sure where to start with this salad: portion abysmal, the bread isn’t fried, doesn’t have the right ingredients that constitutes it being called a fatouch. The staff is beyond rude from the waitress to the busboy. They kept on clearing tables with such rudeness and making so much noise. The only edible thing was the gyro and it’s not even a Lebanese sandwich which is...
Read moreIts a decent enough restaurant, the food is pretty good and the prices are reasonable. There are at least 5 people working back of the house during lunch but only one waitress handling the whole dining room which is about 20 tables. If you are a small table you get passed up for the larger tables even if you came in before them. Expect to wait 10-15 minutes to get greeted at lunchtime and a 7 or 8 minute ticket time. Not ideal if your in a hurry. Best advice, be patient. There are other diners nearby too. Steve's, Gabe's, Gus' and Mom's all have faster service. Gus' is most comparable. Moms is very inexpensive. Boaz is middle eastern and just around the corner....
