Giving 3 stars almost entirely out of sympathy. Go to this location if you like Potbelly's. It isn't necessarily bad but I've just had too many negative experiences to ever recommend or go back. I fully understand staffing issues and how much restaurants are struggling right now which is the only reason I'm giving 3 stars.
I've only ever done order ahead. Which should be helpful to the business. After several times of going there when my order was supposed to be ready and it wasn't, I started ordering WAY in advance. Like 30 minutes ahead when it said it should take 10. Of the many times I've been only ONCE was I able to walk in, grab my food and head out. They don't use the cubbies so you almost always have to wait to get the cashier's attention so they can find your food. I always just assumed having an app and ordering ahead would help when you have a staffing shortage... maybe I'm wrong.
Final straw was the last time I went, ordered 30 minutes ahead, prior to the lunch rush (app said it should take 10 min.). When I got there 30 min after ordering, I waited 5 minutes to even be acknowledged by staff. Then spent another 5 watching an apparent new hire fumble with a sticker... not joking. He LITERALLY spent 5 minutes trying to sticker a receipt to my bag. I timed it and btw he literally could have just handed me my bag and receipt... since ya know I was there and they don't use cubbies.
Conveniently located. Never had an issue with food quality. But the fact that using the app and ordering ahead is next to useless at this place makes it a...
Read moreI have been to many different pot sandwiches and they are usually pretty solid Just depends on the employees. At this location, I ordered my sandwich from inside the restaurant on my app. After ordering the sandwich, I approach the counter and ask them if I should be grabbing my chips Or if she would just put them in the bag. She asked me what my name was then informed me that she was working on my sandwich. I proceeded to sit down at the table facing the street and up the front counter. After about 10-15 minutes I looked back to see if my order was almost done, and one of the employees just pointed to my bag on the counter. I said to him, “Oh, I didn’t know it was done, thank you.” He nodded and didn’t say anything. Good customer service makes people come back, bad customer service stays with you. Just being friendly will go a long way. I live down in Green, Ohio, and I’ve noticed that when I come to fast food restaurants up in Cleveland, the employees just are not as friendly. I’m sure it’s hard working at a sandwich shop, or chipotle, whatever fast food restaurant, but you can’t make the customer feel like you hate your job and are miserable, or are too cool to...
Read moreI had two online orders from this specific store. Normally I have a good experience at potbelly but this time I was upset. One of my orders came with two drinks, and at other locations I noticed they tend to put the drinks in the bag if they are bottled (which mine were, I ordered two bottled sweet teas). I picked up my orders and didn’t notice the drinks were missing until I got home. I wasn’t too upset about it because I figured everyone makes mistakes, but I called the store two times. The first time whoever picked up hung up on me immediately. The second time I said hello I had an order and I was missing my drinks and the person on the other end hung up on me again. It’s not that the drinks were missing, but the attitude of the person who didn’t seem to want to help me. I ordered from the potbelly app directly so no third party apps involved. I sent a feedback review to potbelly asking to be contacted and called the corporate office to make a complaint. I just wanted my five dollars back. The rest of my food was delicious though and normally I have a good experience with potbelly! The store tends to be pretty clean, just not always stocked with napkins,...
