Me and a friend visited for Game 4 of the ALCS on 10/18 around 4:15 before a private event they had. Food was okay, and the place seemed neat. However, the server behind that bar that helped us was the worst service I have had in recent memory. I generally just want to leave positive reviews, but this was so bad and left such a poor impression on us.
When we walked in we thought we would only have a beer or two and then find a restaurant. She didn't ask if we wanted to start a tab or anything, so I paid for me and my friend's beer. We saw some of the food coming out and my friend asked to see a menu because we thought we may just eat there. He saw they had a chorizo burger and that sold him; but after that point, the only time we really saw our server was when she would come back to tell us she would be right back with us, or when she was using the till right in front of us.
Eventually she did come back to get our order, at which point my friend order the Chorizo burger with just cheese and bacon, and I got the Ribeye steak sandwich.
We never spoke to our server again (other than after it was all resolved by other servers) after this moment. We started asking others for assistance.
We should have just left when we realized the server was awful. The burger came out with everything on it. The guy took it back to the kitchen, but as time went on, we realized it was not getting remade. She never came back to check with us and seemed to flat out avoided us during this. Eventually, we asked the other bartender for assistance. He went back to the kitchen and told us what happened, and had them remake the burger. It was almost an hour from the time my friend order until he actually got his food.
There must have been some sort of conflict between our original server and the other bartender working, as she made it very clear to anybody watching by being as frustrated as possible when she did anything. The other gentleman who helped us was awesome. He even politely explained the situation in a way that didn't throw the other server under the bus. He and another server started helping us from there.
After we were done eating the original server came back to us to complain that the kitchen didn't understand her notes. It was pretty unbecoming after she didn't speak to us through the whole ordeal. All the original server had to do was talk to us to see what was up, but she was too occupied with how unhappy she was with another server.
From a couple of guys who have been through the food service industry in different roles, this was really bad showing.
I will say the food was alright, and my friend loved his burger. My ribeye steak sandwich was overpriced for a precooked steakums-esq sandwich, but tasted fine.
We would not visit here again, and will likely steer people away from here when...
ย ย ย Read moreI came to this downtown Cleveland location after attempting to visit the former east side location, which has been permanently closed.
When I arrived with four other family members, we asked for two games of bowling each and four pairs of shoes rentals. We were told it would be a 30 minute wait to bowl, for which I provided my name to the man behind the counter to reserve my spot on the wait list. At this point, he informed me that we were welcome to play any of the arcade games, with more options in the basement, to keep the kids occupied. He further stated that all of the games were free play and only required us to hit the start buttons on the machines. Sadly, about half the games were not free but there were enough that kept us busy for that wait.
After waiting about 45 minutes without being called, I returned to the bowling counter upstairs to ask how much longer it would be for a lane to become available. The man behind the counter, different than the previous employee who helped us, asked for my name and then informed me that it would be another 45 minutes. There were lanes visibly free of any bowlers during my entire visit thus far, so my response emphasised my displeasure with having to wait so long. I asked why the original 30 minute estimated wait has now tripled. The gentleman was unaware that I was previously added to the list and somehow bumped off. He attempted to accomodate us immediately at this point, proceeding to set up the 5 of us, with a sixth to join, on a single lane.
He stated the total price would be $47 and some change and we would have an hour to bowl. Placing 5 or 6 bowlers on a single lane for only an hours time would not allow for a single full game let alone the 2 requested. It was at this moment that an employee finally disclosed that they only rent the lanes out by the hour, not by the number of games.
Nearly an hour after my initial contact with the bowling counter at this location, and having requested two games of bowling for 5 bowlers, is not the appropriate time to tell us how the lane reservations here work, especially since it clearly conflicted with what was requested upon arrival.
Needless to say, I did not pay that price for the 5 or 6 of us to not even be allowed to finish 10 frames each, and decided to leave instead. I was highly displeased with my entire experience and will most likely not...
ย ย ย Read moreWe decided to take my sisters out yesterday for their birthday here and everything was packed. Mind you letting it be a busy Friday and it's the weekend before Christmas. Got sat at a nice table and played around while waiting on our server. When we finally all got to our table to figure out what we are going to eat, our server showed up. He asked for drinks and what we going to eat. We took a vote and decided BBQ pizza. He didn't know HOW MANY SLICES CAME IN A PIZZA NOR THE UP-CHARGE FOR BACON. Then he took our orders and was about to leave when I noticed there was wings on the menu. I asked about other apps and was debating about the wings or the quesadilla. I was about to decide when he rushed me because he got sat a 2 top and said I have to go. I took more time and placed my order for the quesadilla. After that, we enjoyed bowling and the games, but got our food sometime later. We got our food and was enjoying it till I noticed that MY SISTERS WERE EATING OFF A NAPKINS. Never again. We decided to play eye spy and try to find our server because he just seems to disappear every-time. Flagged down an employee and asked for plates for our table. Our server came out minutes later with the plates. Everything was good till we ordered a funnel cake and got it with some weird pink sauce. It was mixed with something and it was horrible. We told our server and he apologized for it being the wrong source and that it was old sauce. We split the checks for 2 people and it came to 17.28 for 2 people. We used our cards, but noticed he rung up my card TWICE. I took my sisters card and told him the problem. He then asked me with card wasn't rung up and I told him my sisters card which was one. He then decided to get smart and raise his voice after asking me again for which card wasn't rung up. I showed him the card AGAIN and said this one. He took the card from me and left to give us our checks after the mess-up and left. I will never be here again with my family. This is the worst place to go and get treated like crap. I worked at restaurants and this is just crap. You as a server should know the menu and everything without looking at it or at least how many slices come in our PIZZA. 2nd time here? Shame on me for coming here thinking the service was good after hearing all about it. Never...
