I visited Flight social on 1/5/2025 for a birthday brunch. Upon walking in, I spotted some friends who were casually having brunch. I went over to speak and they informed me that they had been waiting for their food for 45 minutes. It was clear they that were displeased with the service as 45 minutes is an absurd amount of time to wait for food. As I was standing there, they summonsed a waiter to cancel their food order and to bring them the check for their drinks. Two, I’m assuming, managers came over and they reiterated what they said to the previous waiter. I’m not sure what came of it as we left to go sit with our party, but my impression was that they were pretty displeased with the service. My husband and I walked back to the back of where our party was seated and the waitress immediately came over and was very nice but she informed us that they are only serving the brunch menu, my husband was taken aback by this because we reviewed the menu prior to visiting the restaurant and had spotted a few things we wanted to try. While we understand why they do this, it was still frustrating that we drove all the way down there just to have a few options to choose from. If it’s printed on the website, that’s our oversight, not a big deal. There were about 5 or 6 things on the brunch menu to choose from. Once our entire party was present, they took our food orders. Some ordered early and some ordered maybe approximately 10 minutes after. The food came out in waves. My husband ordered the burger and it was paper thin, we had to take the toppings off just to find the burger patty. Although the flavor of the food was adequate, he still left hungry. I ordered the breakfast sandwich that was supposed to contain cheese and it didn’t. I informed the waitress and she took it back, she immediately brought it back and said the cook stated that the cheese was in the eggs, it was not; all of the toppings were falling apart because there was no cheese or sauce holding it together. I had a side of breakfast potatoes that were really good and seasoned very well.
The rest of the party received their food one at a time. While some were eating, others were just sitting there, waiting for their food. The majority of the guests in our party ordered the shrimp and grits and others ordered the catfish and grits or the salmon and grits. The person who ordered the catfish and grits was served shrimp and grits, this would have been fine if he was not deathly allergic to shellfish. As time went on, we continued to inform management and the waitress that guests in our party did not receive their order; in addition to that, they brought out multiple orders of shrimp and grits two separate times due miscommunication. We kept reminding them of what was missing, they continuously brought out the wrong order. Because of this, they just gave away free plates of the shrimp and grits.
One member of our party ordered a burger and she didn’t get it until everyone in our party had already eaten and ready to pay. She requested that her order be cancelled but the manager stated that she wouldn’t charge her. She too stated that the portion of the burger patty was very thin. The birthday girl ordered lamb chops and for $38 she received only 2, not to mention, she didn’t get them until after everyone else was almost done eating. The management kept saying that because some of them put their order in later it came out later. However, the guests in our party who got their food last were the same people who put their order in first. The birthday girl also stated that the grits were very stiff and the lamb chops were subpar. Moreover, we had children with us and they did not receive their food until the tail end of our visit.
Overall, the food was decent and they had a live band for about two hours which was entertaining and created a nice atmosphere. I will note, the, who I assume is the owner or someone in management, came over multiple times to check on us and he apologized for the inconveniences; as a follow up he comped some...
Read moreFirst, let me say this: The concept of this establishment is spot on. To be honest, I was going to give it four stars because of the singer (She rocked), and the wait staff was extremely friendly and nice. However, the manager killed it for me. As a former bar manager and currently in the service and hospitality industry, managers must assess the establishment and make decisions accordingly. It was my birthday weekend, and we made two separate reservations. They have two shows, so we made one reservation for us at the 7 pm show and another reservation for a larger party at the 9 pm show. When we arrived at 7 pm, there were 6 or 8 people in the establishment, so we made 10. All was well; we ordered drinks and calamari. We enjoyed the music and really enjoyed ourselves. Fast forward to about 8:30 pm, and some of our guests started to arrive. We were sitting at a small table for two, so we asked if we could move to the larger area. There was some hesitation, but they agreed to move us after we explained the situation with the two reservations. So here is where things got really awkward... the manager got on the microphone after the set was over and was basically like, y'all have to leave. I understand there are two shows. Still, the establishment was practically empty, my larger party made the place look packed, and how are you going to kick someone out of an establishment when, for one, it's not like we purchased tickets to see the singer; that happens to be a benefit of patronizing the establishment, two if that is the policy, as a manager I would have expected you to observe that your establishment was nowhere near capacity. I even asked the hostess if they were expecting additional patrons for the evening, and she replied, "Maybe some walk-ins," which tells me the reservations were probably done for the night since the 9 pm show had already started. After he made the announcement on the mic, he had the audacity to approach my larger party to ask them to leave when they had just arrived for the 9 pm show. This further tells me he wasn't paying attention to the room, nor did he understand what was going on. I get it: managers can't be in multiple places at one time, but that's why you rely on the staff to paint the picture for you. The manager appeared to have just wanted to clear the establishment, not knowing that my party of 10 was the largest group in the building. He blew a perfect opportunity to ensure my guests were comfortable and capitalized on a potential profit from my guests. However, because of the treatment, we left and patronized another establishment. MAJOR FAILURE on...
Read moreI took my mom to brunch yesterday and I must say this is the worst food I had in a long time. The first sign was when we couldn’t find a parking spot and drove around for 20mins till someone moved. We finally arrived. We Got mimosas that was the best thing. My mom got French toast and chicken and potatoes on the side. I got catfish and grits with a side of turkey bacon. My mom’s French toast had no flavor you could tell by looking at it her potatoes and chicken taste like oil. I tried her chicken and the sauce on it was good but it wasn’t enjoyable because it taste like old grease. My fish taste to fishy like you couldn’t even eat it. My turkey bacon taste straight like grease and I don’t know how I’ve never had turkey bacon taste like that. My grits that came with my fish came out cold you could tell they sat by the look of them. They brought me some hot grits out in a small bowl smaller than a tea cup. Mean while the meal was $28 I’m going to need all my food. They asked me did I want another side I asked if it was possible to have another bowl. Two of the side grits was nothing compared to the first bowl I had. Then the bowl I got was still not the same as the first bowl it’s like they kept trying to short me food. But they were nasty anyways they had a strong garlic taste not enjoyable. Then a sauce was supposed to come on it, it didn’t they brought me a side they could have kept it cause it was trifling. The live band was the best part of the experience. I spend $68 and Got charged a service fee of $8.70 which it Was just me and my mom so I didn’t tip and feel like I wasted my money on some food that was disrespectfully nasty. I will never be back at this...
