The IVY — Restaurant in Cleveland

If I could leave 0 stars I would.

First, The pat downs they give at the door are a joke. Guys can sneak anything in if it’s in their shoes or even a pocket. Girls can just walk in with nothing. Girls can also have weapons & drugs let’s not forget that.

Second, we ordered 1 round of drinks & something was in one of them. My friend passed out while we were waiting for the bathroom & the security guard said you need to get her out & started forcing her out. I told him absolutely not something happened here & we’re not leaving until we speak to a manager. The manager came over & he again said we couldn’t be there & we needed to leave. I asked if we could take an empty beer bucket with us just incase & the manager told me absolutely not. He completely brushed off the whole situation & his priority was more to getting us out then figuring out what happened. I asked the security guard if there was a back door we could take so we didn’t have to walk her through the club. After some pleading he finally said yes. I asked him to wait with us until an officer met with us outside. We talked to a police officer & he informed us that this happens constantly there. The manager has yet to call us to see if my friend is okay. He hasn’t called to get the whole story. Nothing.

Third, people are actively smoking weed in here. Multiple people were rolling joints & lighting them just in the middle of the dance floor.

I highly do not recommend going here unless you want to be treated poorly for someone putting drugs in your drink. It’s not safe for girls at all.

Ivy is without a doubt the best club in Cleveland. It's hard to verbalize how much this club means to me. It's certainly my happy place. I'm so appreciative of all the Ivy staff. They always make me feel so welcomed and appreciated. It truly is my home away from home. I've never had anything less than a superb experience. It's way more than a night club it's a special place. This establishment has had an incredible impact on my life! It saved me from some of my darkest days. Ivy is the place to be! The music is next level and great vibes. The staff is exceptional! The bottle girls go above and beyond to deliver the most special VIP experience. If you get bottle service request Tay, she's the best in the business and you will be thoroughly impressed. I got bottle service for my birthday party on December 6th and it was the best birthday party I've ever had! The GM, Jason, comped me 2 free bottles of champagne for my birthday. I wish I could rate this establishment 0 stars. Ever since I have been going here at the age of 21 my friends and I have only had bad experiences with staff. We are African Americans but we are not ratchet nor do we ever cause a scene and it’s sad that I have to point that out in the first place. I feel the staff is taught to discriminate against minorities and I have had many encounters myself, even though Cleveland is very diverse.

I know you can’t run from the R word when you’re African but I feel that doesn’t mean you have to put up with it.

My boyfriend who is Hispanic had a tab open Friday night he always comes here and pays and has never given anyone issues. He went to buy another beer and the bartenders lost his card. They claimed he didn’t have a tab and said “oh you don’t want to pay?! You can leave SECURITY”. His card is still there and I feel that they didn’t even give him time to explain anything just kicked him out. He was not rude to them nor did he cause a scene like they did.
