My wife and I were in the Clovis area for a family event. We were up from LA, and every time we go to a new city we wanna try the local Mexican food because it’s our favorite type of food.

We found 559 taqueria in reviews and figured we would give it a try. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the bartender Danny who immediately took our drink order and offered us a seat and a menu. My wife ordered ala carte, which is something they don’t normally do, but because it wasn’t too busy they accommodated. I ordered the VIP starter platter. I had no intention of eating six tacos, but by the time I started and looked down the plate was clear. Once he realized we weren’t typical gringos. He brought us the hot salsa, the pickled peppers and his famous chipotle sauce. The photo with the bottom shows all that was left.

Danny is the real VIP here though because his drinks were super on point the food was great and just his personality and the way he treated us was amazing. He also told us that they have a DJ on certain nights and even a comedy night. We were sorry that we weren’t here for that cause we would’ve loved to experience it.

I recently had the pleasure of trying their taco box, which included 10 tacos of our choice. We went with the al pastor and barbacoa tacos, and we weren't disappointed. The tacos were overflowing with meat, and the flavors were incredible. In addition to the tacos, we also tried the red queso birria tacos, as well as the asada. Everything was delicious! The red quesotacos was rich and the birria was perfectly cooked. The asada tacos were also fire 🔥 too. 559 Taqueria is a great place to go for a casual meal with friends or family and the service is friendly and fast.
