Took my wife to this Red Libster last night for her birthday dinner. We are both Red Lobster fans. We are from Arizona and enjoyed them out west so naturally we sought them out here in Cincinnati. Being a franchise one assumes that they will likely be good if one is they should all be alike, right. Well, with this restaurant we were wrong. The one at 3564 Springdale in Cincinnati was not good it was GREAT! Although we have reasons that make us eat early we don’t like to drive after dark. Upon being seated we were immediately were met with a friendly server asking for our drink preference. We ordered iced tea and no hors d’oeuvres, and an older couple it usually means cheap meal and small tip. Additionally I said to her we were in sort of a hurry. She didn’t miss a beat handled us with the courtesy of cherished client's and saw to it our orders were delivered promptly and piping hot. She returned every few minutes wanting to know if everything was okay and could she bring anything. I gave this restaurant five stars because it deserved them. The food was delicious. Piping hot and served quickly as requested. The service got five starts because I could not give it six stars. Our server was that good. I cannot say too much about the place, both the food and the service. My apologies as I neglected to get a photo.
Ding Ding Ding
This is an update on my review. I had reason to visit the same Red Lobster approximately four years later. Guess what it has not done anything to alter my opinion of the place. I had the occasion to have a business meeting with a fellow from out of town. I asked him if Red Lobster would suit him as our meeting place. He said fine.
I called to see if I could make reservations and was met with my first disappointment of this place. The lady on the phone informed they did not take reservations but if I called in the morning of the day needing accommodation she thought they could help me out. I called and sure enough was met with a cheerful voice and when I asked if we could be seated in a quieter part of the restaurant she said sure. The other gentleman and I met there at the appointed time and we were quickly and pleasantly seated in a quieter spot though they do not have separate facilities this was most satisfactory for our luncheon meeting. We were able to discuss our business. The waitress was prompt cheerful and though taking good care of us and we needed nothing she did not provide quickly and as requested. She was very aware and did not interrupt but served us extremely well suiting the conditions of the lunch. We were able to discuss business and be served both with the greatest of ease meshing like we had rehearsed it. I cannot say more to praise the way we were treated. The food was as good as the service, excellent ! It is wonderful when you find something you have trouble finding adjectives to rise to the level of praise you want to express. It becomes doubly troublesome when it continued over time loosing nothing with the passing of time. It was great in my first writing of this review and it is my pleasure to say it has not slipped one iota in the passing of time. It was a wonderful dining experience the first time and just as great in every way the last time. It is such a pleasure to find something that stands the test of time. I said the first time that I gave this establishment five stars because I could not give it six stars! I still feel the same way. If you like seafood do yourself a favor and seek out this particular restaurant. Sorry no photos but I am going...
Read moreI understand we live in differnet times than we have in the past and staffing and wait times are problems everywhere, but today's experience was beyond the pale. My elderly mother wanted the endless shrimp and loves the scampi, so off to redlobster we go. We have been here (this specific location) many times before with no issues. We arrived a little after lunch time and had a short wait to be seated (no issues so far). After the hostess showed us to our table and gave us menus then the fun began. We were seated on the far interior wall of the restaurant and there weren't too many other patrons in that area, but we still had a large amount of staff traffic flow as one of the kitchen doors was only a few booths down from us. We sat at our table without seeing any wait staff stop for us for more than half an hour. After 35 minutes the hostess came by and asked if anyone had helped us yet and offered to take drink orders for us. Ours drinks are finally brought to us by the hostess five minutes later. Keep in mind the entire time we are seated there's wait staff walking by us every few minutes to get to the kitchen area and LOTS of them would glance at us and our plate and drink free table, but offer no assistance. Also, the table directly across the travel isle from us with a party of six was seated just before us and had multiple staff members helping take care of that table. There were even wait staff that were not assigned to that table whom would ask If they need anything when they were walking by, but would not look to there left at our table to offer us to even check on our server. We left after being completely ignored by EVERYONE on the staff (less the hostess who got us drinks after 30 minutes) for 45 minutes. We spoke to the manager as we left and she offered to seat us somewhere else and comp our meals, but no thank you at that point ... don't want to think about what might have occurred with our food after complaining. I understand being short staffed, times being longer than they have been and cutbacks, but waiting at a table for nearly an hour and being completely ignored is unacceptable. We did not choose where to sit, we were seated by the staff. We were not in a completely empty section of the restaurant, there was another table being taken care of directly across the travel isle from us. The patrons at that table were also mortified when we walked out and they asked us about what had happened, as they had seen us there the entire time and they were nearly finished with their meals. This is the worst dining experience I've ever had and sadly it had nothing to do with the food as we never came close to getting what is usually...
Read moreRed lobster has been my favorite restaurant for many decades! One bad experience can ruin what has been a lifetime staple. Service matters and this day service dropped the ball at this location, not only from the server but from the manager. What good is a server that does not translate an order correctly? What good is a manager that comes up to the table appearing already frustrated and nonchalant about the complaint you’re about to voice. We ordered the ultimate feast to share with extra sides. My problem with this meal our baked potatoes were drowned in sour cream and nothing else, we order 2 that was suppose to be loaded with one no sour cream, the linguine came not with the shrimp on the side (as requested), the lettuce looked old and tasted dirty. From the time the salad was brought out we didn’t see the waitress again until the meal was brought out. This left us unable to request a new salad and or even get more water to drink. Then when the meal finally arrived I felt she didn’t even listen to my order because there were the things that were incorrect. (We come so much I order my husband and my food effortlessly). In addition to the things that were wrong, I mentioned we were splitting this meal and it was brought out on one plate with no offer of 2 additional plates. At this point I asked for the manager who did more huffing and puffing than I did. His first attempt to rectify the situation was an extra side of pasta that wasn’t even for me and then when the manager finally brought out the 1 plate it was dirty. He had the nerve to roll his eyes. I asked him was he frustrated? Cause his body language, rolling of the eyes, flat demeanor, showed just that. I also pointed out to him the plate was indeed dirty and he reluctantly agreed! I’m not giving up on Red Lobsters except for this location. I had to ask the manager what would be his attempt to fix this debacle of a meal cause at this point he just standing around like I’m the blame, eventually he took care of the bill. At this point I no longer had an appetite and just packed what was served and left! This happen on 10/18/25 around 2pm so that management can address this...
