Julie, the store manager (who at the time I was VERY unaware she was the store manager) was very kind and took her time to help me find what I needed. Being new to the area and also having a pet pass away and not being anywhere near close to my old vet who'd always make a plaque of their client's paw prints and their name at their passing, I wanted to do something just the same, but have NEVER shopped for such materials before. She took at least 20min, helping just me. Upon checkout I asked to speak to a member of management because I wanted them to know about what a stellar job their employee had done for me. Then the cashier walked for Julie. This was when I realized the person who'd been so very kind to me, being very new to the area and also grieving and not thinking quite as I typically would, was indeed the store manager. Some customers are automatically selected to take a survey about their experience, I was not. So, I am writing about my experience here, with pictures about what Julie literally hand picked for me for my little one because it had more in the kit than any other. I'm sure she did this because I'd told her what I was looking for and why. I will also make and take the time to personally call corporate to make sure they know what a great person she is and job she did for me in my time of need. They hear SO much negative, I want them to know the VERY POSITIVE experience and outcome I personally had; that I believe everyone will have when shopping here. Read moreThis Michael's (Colerain/Northgate Mall) has ALWAYS been one of my favorite places to shop for just about everything floral or crafty ... until now. They have reset the store to accommodate much more "crafty" kinds of things and not the floral/arrangement/ wreath/decor side of things. I was VERY disappointed at the serious lack of flower stems available and the really high price of their boxes, vases, etc. I was looking for decorative tape on this trip because of an advertised sale. They use to have 4 stack packs of great colors at a great price. With a coupon, it would have been a great deal. On this trip, they only had a very small supply of unattractive shingle roll packs for an ok sale price; about 1/4 of what the other larger packs cost at regular price. No sale for me. Hobby Lobby will be thrilled. Consumers ... not so much. Hobby Lobby's floral prices are extremely high. Although, they have every color under the sun and a wide variety of floral species and accents not found at discount (Dollar Tree) stores. I would shop at Hobby Lobby all the time if they were not so expensive; priced more like Michael's prices when they ran their great sales. I am concerned that Michael's will no longer be my "go to" place for all things floral. Read moreI had an extremely disappointing experience at Michael’s recently. I was at the register trying to do a simple price match when the cashier called for assistance from another employee. I was told someone would be up shortly—but it took 18 minutes for the associate to finally arrive. The associates name is Kaylin and I’m not sure if she is a manger or not.
When Kaylin finally made her way to the front of the store, instead of helping, she argued with me, claiming she couldn’t do the price match because she wasn’t familiar with which retailers Michael’s matches with. If she didn’t know, she could’ve easily looked it up through Micheal’s app or a simple google search—but instead, she was rude, unprofessional, and dismissive.
To make matters worse, once she finally rang me out, she tossed my items at me like she couldn’t be bothered to finish the interaction with basic respect.
