I either haven’t eaten at this location before or I haven’t eaten there in a very long time. Either way, our recent visit did not disappoint. Even though it was a Sunday morning, I guess we went early enough to beat the rush. Because we got a table for five immediately.
I enjoy their regular menu - I love their omelette sans pancakes, while my mom loves their sandwiches. But on this particular visit, their seasonal menu caught my eye. I went with their Elote Mexican Street Corn Hash - potatoes, corn, chorizo, two eggs, avocado, cotija and chipotle crema. The potatoes and avocado were the perfect thing to share with my two-year-old. While I enjoyed the flavor from the chipotle crema and corn. While I wish they had been a bit more generous with the chorizo, I remember there being a decent amount of cheese.
My husband went with something completely different that I’ve never seen him order before - the Acai Bowl! It comes topped with strawberries, banana, kiwi, blueberries and granola. We expected the consistency of the açaí to be like a smoothie, but it was actually harder as if it had been frozen like a sorbet. Both hubby and kiddo enjoyed this dish along with the side of toast with almond butter.
I’m pretty sure my mom gets the same thing every time - the Club sandwich. So I guess she likes it! Lol

Read moreOne thing I like about First Watch is that they have seasonal menus. The last season had shrimp and grits on the menu which I really enjoy from here. This morning their seasonal menu had changed so I tried the crab and asparagus omelet for the first time and I enjoyed it. It comes with their lightly dressed greens and wheat toast, I substituted the greens for fruit and the toast for an English muffin. They were more than happy to accommodate my requests and there was no upcharge. They also have fresh juices, the seasonal menu had a juice called strawberry smash (strawberries, lemon and basil). The drink was absolutely delightful. I always order my juices from their without ice, so it comes in a smaller cup but it doesn't get watered down before I make it home. They have no issue with this request, I only mention this because I ordered a juice at another First Watch (Hyde Park) and the man seemed to have a huge issue with my request for no ice, I had to let him know that the Northgate location is always able to do it without a discussion about it. I've learnt my lesson and only go to Northgate now, since my food is always prepared as I like, packaged for pickup in the specified time they give and their employees are very friendly here. I haven't ever dined in at this location, it is always a to go order on a...

So the morning meditation is still life! The green drink is good as well. However there lunch options leave a lot to be desired. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich and soup today. Instead I got mixed greens with no top piece of bread for my sandwich. I also asked for the sandwich to be cold instead of a melt. The chicken salad itself is great, I could use a little less raisins though. But I just can't get over the second piece of bread not being there. I've eaten open face sandwiches before and I've still gotten a second piece of bread. The person who's answered the phone the times that I've called he has a bad phone voice. He's not welcoming when you call and he sometimes has an attitude which I can understand during busy times. Whoever is doing your ux design for the website needs to make more options to change things available. Like I had to call to place my order because the original item I wanted to get, I wanted to add spinach. But there's no option to do those types of things anymore for any restaurants. I like the service as far as the servers and hosts but everything else is just slowly going down. I still like the drinks though.
Great first time experience. The morning...
