I visited Dec 12, and am posting this 4 weeks later. Let me preface by saying that I LOVED White Castle, but my last visit was so horrendous that upon thinking about it for some time - I'm just done.
My Crave was Cheesesticks and Fries. I worked in restaurant for years, and I can't for the life of me figure out how they messed up the cheesesticks.
They literally tasted like they were dumped in a campfire. I called the manager and she told me the fryers (which I didn't think were the issue) were recently changed, I told her that I hate to complain, but this felt like an aggressive action. Did they dump an Ash tray in the fryer? Did they drop these in the grease trap? I'm still nauseous thinking about them as i write this. It's fryer food, you did something.
The fries were super undercooked as well but didn't complain because I could reason with that.
I get the "we're short handed, over worked, underpaid" rhetoric that seems to be the plight, no... excuse of the service industry as of late. Do please understand that if you can't understand that people are coming to you with their last few dollars in their pocket sometimes where a feel good favorite is worth emptying that pocket, then you're not as altruistic as you think. Fast food is most consumed by the lower classes, and there's no pride that goes into your work, you're just imposing upon them even more when you serve food off the floor, or actively try to make food bad.
Pains me to say... We're done White Castle. I get sick when I see your sign and I hope you close down and move away. There's quality employees at other area restaurants that don't make their world view a problem of their consumer. Raise your pay like this movement wants and I and others will come take the job of the "hired body"...
Read moreI wish I could give ZERO stars right now. I just left this white castle after ordering on the app for pick up. The female "manager" or shift supervisor I assume was a total duchebag, excuse my anger please. I was missing items from my order and once brought to her attention, I was basically accused of being a liar,... surprisingly to me it was to the point I had to convince her it was necessary to take everything out of the bags right there on the counter so she could look at each individual item. That's by far the most ridiculous thing I've ever experienced in a restaurant... EVER. Of course she was forced to see I was missing the items I insisted I was... but that's not the problem here. The problem is the way she made me feel as a paying customer that was informing her (as the supervisor on shift) that my $50 plus order wasn't correct. I've never been more embarrassed. This woman was not meant for customer service. Not at all. And ABSOLUTELY NOT MEANT FOR ANY MANAGEMENT POSITION CONSIDERING I HAVE A PROOF OF HER SMOKING A CIGARETTE (possibly or smoking something else) right outside/inside of this establishment while she was inside of the door holding it open and the questionable smoke going directly into the restaurant each of us eat from. Like really? I absolutely will NEVER return to this location and hope her superiors are aware of her disgusting habits, negligent behavior and...
Read moreI like this location and they're always busy. The wait is a little long, but the food is good. I used a coupon, buy one get one free. The order was a cheeseburger meal and the second meal was breakfast on toast. I checked the bag and thought they gave me the wrong toast sandwiches. I waited a long time in the drive thru so decided to go into the restaurant after seeing about 8 new cars in the drive thru. I had my receipt and showed the employee the bag. It looked like two sliders to me and her, so she went over to the cook. He came over and pulled a sandwich out of the bag. Lo and behold it was toast. Little toast, but toast. He explained that they changed their toast size. Now, he pulled the hash browns out of the bag and put them on the counter so I asked for new ones, which were no problem. The encounter was fine as some young people respond with a very bad attitude. His frustration was there, but he kept it in check. It was really fault because I didn't know it was little toast and I didn't do a thorough check of the food. All was well. Our dinner turned out fine. I will revisit...
