Had to come check this new chicken place out Seeing its new, don’t think I’ll be back. Not because it wasn’t good. Place definitely was delicious, but century square parking is absolutely inconvenient and annoying. As a local. I’ll leave that area for the tourists or parents taking their kids out to eat. One reason I’d prefer Dave’s hot chicken over this spot. The parking.
2nd the food portions and value. It was delicious. I liked the spice and heat. But unfortunately for nearly 20$ I’m getting a combo. That’s wild! I could literally take a friend out at CHILIS for that amount. and The value for what you pay and the portions are a bummer. Also the menu is absolutely confusing. And the menu is a tv that is in front of the registers vs at the back of the registers. You have to bend your neck or use the paper menus at the counter vs just having the menus behind the cashier… poor planning and very confusing menu. We also weren’t greeted/welcomed/ or explained the menu on our first time coming in.
I also wasn’t a fan of their special sauce. Very sweet has like a Russian dressing/ or some type of Asian sweet sauce you dip your crab rangoons in.
Glad I tasted it. Welcome to town, but won’t be back. Adjust the pricing, simplify your menu, fix your portion sizes. Improve your special sauce. You are almost there as a special restaurant… but not quite IT. There was...
Read moreThe wife and I were going to Coco Shrimp for lunch, but I just HAD to stop by here first to try the original spicy chicken sandwich.
Let me just tell you that it was a great decision and definitely one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve tried. I’m a fanatic of all things hot & spicy, so the “Level-Up” sauce that I chose for the chicken was the perfect level of almost too spicy for me. Even with the hotter than hot spice level, I could still taste all other flavors, including the pickles and slaw.
I also wanted to mention that the customer service was phenomenal! Phillip, the manager of this location took time and care to answer all of our questions about the menu and ingredients.
If you want some amazing chicken, fries, lemonade, etc; don’t hesitate to give them a...
Read moreHouston Hot Chicken just opened but completely blew me away! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was lively and welcoming, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful with menu suggestions.
The chicken itself is on another level — juicy and tender inside, and packed with bold, flavorful heat. They offer a great range of spice levels, so whether you like just a little kick or full-blown fire, there's something for everyone. I did not try the "Houston We Have Problem" since I am not brave enough to sign the waiver!
If you're a fan of hot chicken, Houston Hot Chicken is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back...
