I had a great lunch today! Sliced brisket, green beans, potato salad, side of charo beans, and piece of peach cobbler. Chugged it down with some apple soda . A bit pricey but you definitely get a nice portion size and a well-cooked meal for what you pay. I was impressed when I opened the box. This is how barbecue is supposed to be made. Brisket was flavorful and tender period nice thick slices pared on to play with a good presentation. I think the sauce was Heinz 57 based. It had a rich buttery, savory flavor. Real pieces of garlic in the green beans. Flavored with pork. Peach cobbler could have been just a little sweeter, and with maybe just a few more peaches. I was complaining to the deli guy about how small the desserts in the glass case were, but honestly after eating the hearty portion of the barbecue and sides, that peach cobbler was just enough. Both the gas station attended next door who sells the breakfast burritos from halls as well as the staff at the counter are all very friendly and welcoming.

I can’t believe it’s taken so long for me to try this hidden gem! I’m fairly certain I will never go anywhere else for BBQ ever again. The ribs are in a class all on their own. I got a full slab, they were so meaty, so tender, such great flavor! Also got sliced brisket and pulled pork. So tender, so juicy, so delicious! The potato salad was creamy, and was your basic mustard pimento flavors. Their pinto beans were good, peppery, a nice side to the BBQ, and the sauce was really good too, although none of the meat needs it! This place does close early so make sure you get there earlier in the day, I know I’ll be back!

The brisket is good; the pieces aren’t too fatty, and they are tender. The coleslaw was the best I’ve had. It’s light and flavorful. The green beans also have a nice spice to them, but they were way too salty. Same with the mac n cheese. Cut the salt. Great service. They have irreverent t-shirts. They were quick. Don’t know if they always sell out of things, but you might plan accordingly and come early. Good prices.there’s no place to eat there. And yes, this is in a liquor store that is in a gas station. You’ll see the pit outside.

Oh Halls......how do I review you? I have such a love/hate relationship with this place. Back in the day before Bedford had liquor stores....Halls was really your only option in this area. They were crass, rude, grumpy and well known for it, proud of it. I hated it. I'm 5'1 and 125lbs, I just bought a case of liquor the least you can do is offer to help me to my car (eyeroll). I used to occasionally get chopped brisket sandwiches to go which were pretty good. But there was a guy or two that were just downright frightening to deal with sometimes. Such aggressive personalities. Fast forward 2023: I've moved from Bedford to Grapevine and AGAIN find that Hall's is my closest choice for liquor. Dear lord FML. However, this 2023 I've found Halls to be delivering a different experience. Thankfully they've hired some really nice people to check you out and the old crumudgeon is gone. They offer to help you to the car or you can ask for help and they gladly assist. Anything you're looking for...they know exactly where everything is. I ordered a brisket sandwich and it was just ok. On another trip I ordered a hot link and ribs. The hot link was awful! The ribs though were shockingly delicious. So much so that I've ordered them almost every time I go in there now. Halls has improved, however; if you go to a liquor store in Bedford or Lewisville or Flower Mound, in comparison Hall's is and just remains......well, just ok. Which I guess is an...

Looked this up on Google Maps for a lunch meetup. Was surprised that this place was so unassuming and inside a convivence /liquor store. However the smell upon approaching the counter was excellent and there was a line 8 people deep. Ordered the three meat plate with brisket, hot links, and bologna with cole slaw and mac & cheese ( I actually don't like mac & cheese - figured I would save it for my son later). Totally blown away, all excellent meats, portions were great, the slaw was right at that not overly creamy, not overly sweet that I really like and I ate all the mac & cheese. Brought home some left overs so the rest of the fam could try it and they also thought it was great! Wil...
