I came here a week ago and ordered the chicken and filet mignon hibachi. We did not sit at the hibachi grill. We were just at a table, but they still cooked it so delicious. It had a very nice chargrilled, flame cooked taste, and the filet was cooked medium, and super tender. Everything had an exquisite seasoning and flavor to it. So I brought my mom in today and we each ordered it to-go, but this time it was so bland. It had zero hibachi flame cooked flavor to it. The steak was well done, not medium. Last time I was given so much meat I could make two meals out of it, this time I was given maybe half of what I received. There was also hardly any steak which I paid extra for, and not only to have steak but even more money to have filet mignon. It was mostly chicken, which was dry and flavorless. The vegetables are mushy and bland. It had way too much liquid in it, which leaked out of the box everywhere and it had zero seasoning on any of the meat or vegetables. Also last time I got it, it came with soup and a salad. I know for a fact I got miso soup since it was cloudy with seaweed and tofu in it. This time just because it’s to-go, it did not come with soup or salad so I added the soup for an extra charge and the lady stated it comes with a clear broth, which was flavorless and not what I had last time. For $45 each this is very infuriating that it does not have the same quality or flavor. I don’t care if we did get it to-go. They need to flame cook it in the back as if we were ordering it on the hibachi grill. I should not have tipped. I don’t plan to come back, which is a shame since we just started...
Read moreMy kids and I ate here. I liked the place. It's in a strip mall (which seems to have more than its fair share of restaurants). I liked the atmosphere. They brought us palette cleansers and hot towels to start. We had crab Rangoon, tempura, and Vietnamese spring rolls for appetizers. Everything was good. I had the green Thai curry. It was good, but a little on the salty side (I've been cutting back on salt recently, B.P. don't you know, and that might have affected my perception.) My son had a gorgeous piece of salmon. It was cooked on the rare side. We had a little discussion as to whether it was underdone, or that's the way it was supposed to be. He didn't send it back (although I encouraged him to do so if he wanted to). And he ate the whole thing. I think many of us home cooks tend to overcook our meat. But just a heads up, if you want the salmon well done, you might want to mention that. I didn't try my daughter's noodle dish, so I can't comment, except to say that the portion was certainly very generous. My kids (adult kids) declared that they liked the place, so I suspect that we will...
Read moreIt was a rough night for our waitress. I understand it being Friday and being in the weeds, but she was forgetting things left and right. I waited 15 minutes into the meal to again request the drink I ordered, she took my order and even after repeating it to her it was wrong when it came out, our sushi order was taken and it never came. The family next to us requested their son's rice three times and it was not until they got their cheque to leave that it came out. The picture I included shows the neglect of the owner. I would hate to be the patron who bit down into a metal shard.
Honestly, this is was a really disappointing experience. My sister used to work here and it was one of our favorite places to eat. I get that Covid did a number on a lot of places, but $20 to replace broken cooking utensils should be a priority. Also, they used soy sauce instead of teriyaki in their chow mein rendering it a salty miscarriage of asian cuisine. We will probably give it another shot in the future, but quality and service took...
