My family and I decided to have Valentines dinner at Dainty's Kitchen as we always want to try out her place. I was'nt sure what it would be like but I felt confident that we would have a great valentine dinner no matter what.
They did not fail to please!
First of all the food was Awesome/Excellent. My husband had Curried Goat, I had a Whole Red Caribbean Snapper and my son had the Jerk Chicken with sides of Jamaican Rice and Peas, Fried Plantains, Mac and Cheese and Steamed Cabbage. After getting down in all that as we always share our food, we had to order additional sides of Jerk Pork, Jerk Chicken and Johnny Cake/ Fried Dumpling. I have been back there to dine and man, It tasted even more delicious... If your taste bud would like to extend to some good ole Jamaican food, try Dainty's Kitchen...The staff there are just humble and pleasant and the restaurant is engolf with tranquillity.
I took a lot more pics but will post them In another review when I return to dine there.
I would summarize by saying: Great Food, Beautiful Souls, and Beautiful atmosphere.
While I was there dining there were a lot of people doing take outs as well.
What made it even better was the diversity, as people from all different race were ordering and enjoying the food even though it is a Jamaican restaurant.
WE WILL BE BACK! KUDOS GUYS!
Oh I forgot! I had to get some special Jamaican Patties and dessert was Jamaican Potato Pubdding. The next time I will get the...
Read moreWow. All I can say is wow. No idea what that guy who rated this place 2 or 3 stars is talking about, the food was SO FLAVORFUL and nicely spiced. I have tried so many jamaican spots, not only one or two of the others in the springs but also many in Florida and nothing has come close to this jerk chicken plate, aside from the ones I have had from Jamaica itself. I have been chasing this flavor since I was last a kid in Jamaica. Finally found it at a little shop in Colorado Springs of all places?! Crazy, but I am not complaining. I literally paused mid meal to write this and anybody that knows me knows how picky I am about cold or lukewarm food. I am not even worried about my plate losing heat because the flavor is so good I could eat it ice cold and would still rip it apart. Yes, it’s that good. Rice and peas with the jerk sauce is a 10/10, plantains are delicious. Only complaint I have is the dumplings were a bit undercooked but I have been here previously and they fried them to perfection before so I think it may just be a one time thing. I also tried the banana pudding last time and it was so good. I’m not even a big fan of banana or pudding but if you like banana crème pie you will LOVE it. Crispy nilla wafers but smooth cool pudding and light airy whipped(?) cream. So good, I will be coming back. Give it a try and bless...
Read moreI took a gamble on this place. I've had some jerk chicken that wasn't very good in the past, but I didn't want Mexican, Chinese, or fast food. The food arrived very quickly, and when I pulled the container out of the bag, heads started to turn. It smelled fantastic. I ordered jerk chicken, mac and cheese, and rice and beans. The food was spectacular. As another reviewer pointed out, it was plated in the container better than they do at other restaurants. The sauce was smokey and sweet, with a little bit of spice. I imagine if you like the "burn your face off" stuff, they can accommodate you. I got large portions, so for $15, this is two meals. Absolutely fantastic. I can't wait to go to this restaurant and meet the owners and their staff and try the food in-house.
