The wait was 45 min which was fine that's how we Jamaican serve food, that's how we put the love into it and the portions was extremely small for a jamaican restaurant I'm use to big portions that's filled to the top and spilling out where you have to staple the damn plate together. If I'm going to spend $15.00 a damn plate for kid size portions then that slop should be a $5.00 plate! .. I'm very disappointed in how my jerk chicken was not even a damn quarter leg, but a chopped up small piece of one chicken leg, it had some sweet bbq sauce that was okay but it could have been better expecting that they are real jamaicans right?.. Being that I am full blooded jamaican and I lived in New York with the best cooks & my family owns restaurants there , so I know how it supposed to taste & look and what size portions you should serve your customers!... Straight up crooks and the curry chicken was like curry soup...''Yuck!.. You people need to stop robbing people with those little ass portions and high ass prices because your food is nasty and you lost me as your damn customer.. And you caught me on my pamper myself day that's the only reason I went out to eat. I should open up a restaurant and put you out of business.."Yes I cook from scratch and my food taste like a true...

I was So Excited to Find a Jamaican Food Restaurant in Colorado Springs & Not Too Far from home!

The Food was Great the "Very First Time" I went there to Order Food "To Go" for 2 People & The Food "Seemed Fresh" and was served Steaming Hot🔥

But the 2ND Time I went there to Order Food, He Gave Me "ICE COLD FOOD!" --Soooooo I'M NOT SURE "HOW LONG" the FOOD he put in our "To Go" Styrofoam Containers had been sitting around??

I Read Other Reviews about "J's Jamaican Flava" afterwards & a Few Other Reviews said His Food was Good BUT said they Saw him "Microwave" the Food, so that gave them the impression his Food isn't Freshly Cooked to Order😕

The Food I Ordered for 2 People the 2nd Time I went back there Wasn't GOOD! A Matter of Fact, The Owner Gave Us Food to Go THAT WASN'T Even Hot! I Watched 👀 him take Food out of a Pot & put our Food in the "To Go" Styrofoam Containers and "Both" of Our Food was ICE COLD!

I mean...I Live mins from his Restaurant But the Food We Ordered was So COLD! We were Highly Disappointed because the Very First Time I Ordered Food for US...It was On Point! Smh!

This isn't a Good Thing! This is Extremely Disturbing to the Both of US! Unfortunately I don't Feel Comfortable to Go...

I have never had Jamaican food before, and since my husband and I are planning to visit Jamaica, I wanted a little taste of it, prior to the future trip. I asked the cook (owner?) what would he recommend, and he rudely answered that I have a list of items in front of me, so I should just pick… this actually took me by surprise, so I tried again, asking if the dish I am thinking about ordering is good (hence to never having Jamaican food before) only to hear another cold response : “ you will try it, so you will tell me” - friend that was standing in line behind me was shocked hearing the way I was talked to. I am always the one to enter a place with a smile on my face , eager to try new things, ask questions, but the way I was treated left me with bitter taste in my mouth. I ordered Jerky Chicken and that’s the reason I decided to leave this place 3 stars instead of 2. My dish was very flavorful, and filling. I got my husband Spicy Jerky chicken and he said it was spicy indeed. So just heads up - spicy means SPICY ! I wish my experience was better, but that won’t stop me from exploring other culinary hidden gems all over...

Fantastic!!! I’ve been here once before and it was 🔥 but haven’t been back in a while because it’s far from where I live at. I was in the area for lunch and I ♥️♥️♥️♥️ how they have lunch specials!!!!! I usually go to High Grade Jamaican restaurant because it’s closer but if this place was closer, I would come here instead because their curry chicken has bone in it and the other place I go to don’t have bone in the curry chicken. Plus they have affordable lunch specials and the other place do not. The first time I came here I had a great experience too but the only thing I didn’t care for the first time was the coco bread wasn’t homemade (store bought). They probably changed it and I didn’t get it this time as you see from the picture but that was the only issue from the first time. Other than that, they are nice, you get a good serving size, taste great, and it’s affordable! 🙌🏾 10/10 In the picture is the curry chicken lunch special! Perfection!

Food, good. Service, ok. Read review till the end The portion sizes were good. My mother had the stewed fish, and it was cooked well and well seasoned. I had a combination of the pork and stew chicken, both were seasoned well. The sauces were great on the rice and peas. We also ordered a chicken patty and it was a little dry, they were out of beef. They were actually out of a lot of items so our options were limited. Overall is was an ok experience, but I had one issue that I wanted to mention. One thing I wanted to note. The price of the fish on the menu was 15.50. When they rang me up it was $25. They said because the size of the fish was large. The fish looks large because of the head being on in my opinion. I wish they would have told me about the price change at the beginning and not after waiting 15-20 minutes for our food and were checking out. Not cool. I brought it, because my mom already was expecting it, but that was NOT worth $25.00.

I would come here pretty often and make it my business to get some Curry Goat but I stopped for a while(few years). Came back and ordered Curry Goat with rice and Cabbage. My Fiance' ordered the same thing but with Oxtails. The prices have gone up a little and the portion sizes have gone down(as far as what you get for meat from what I remember) but that's what happens when inflation hits and smaller restaurants have to compensate so I understand. Anyway, the meat was flavorful and tender. The rice was good but the cabbage was really bland. The bread you see pictured is pretty dense and fresh when you order. I use it to soak up the gravy that comes with the meat. Overall, we enjoyed our food, but it'll be a while before we come back. It's just the price and we don't always crave this particular cuisine like that. If you are looking for a pretty good jamaican spot on the south end of the springs or north of Fountain then this is it. Take Care.
