I ordered a pie for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, I was unable to pick it up because I had a family emergency. I contacted them via email that same day and they told me they couldnāt offer me a refund or store credit. I asked if I could still pick up my pie when they reopen after Thanksgiving. They told me they āwastedā it and that would not be an option either. Incredibly disappointed. Will not be returning. Not even on the holidays could they give someone grace. They typically close at 2:00 pm on Wednesdays but closed at 1pm that day. I stopped by at 1:30 and they were closed. Pie wasnāt cheap either. $32 down the drain on Thanksgiving.
Edited to add Itās sad that this business owner would rather argue with a customer and call her a liar ON THANKSGIVING, of all days, than try to work with her on a compromise. Who else buys a $32 pie but a (once) loyal customer? I never said that initial order didnāt state that they would waste it or that they wouldnāt give me a refund. I donāt think asking for store credit is unreasonable. I asked you to PLEASE just work with me. I also stated in my initial review that I contacted them that day. I never said anything about contacting them before close. I did email...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDecided to drop in after reading reviews. I was pleased to find ample off street parking. Inside the ambience was pleasant, bright, cheerful, comfortable. Ordering for takeout was a bit complicated. I asked what the house loaf was and was told it was country sourdough. Online it says red wheat is the house loaf and favorite. The salesperson made no mention of the Friday special which was pistachio and cherry. It was difficult to know what the ingredients were of available loaves. I ordered the red wheat - sliced. The salesperson said she cant slice loaves. What??? That is a common bakery service. Nonetheless I bought the red wheat. Discovered it was slightly overbaked when I got home - blackened areas on the exterior. It proved rather difficult to slice at home - a difficult outer shell to get through. It did taste really good - loved the flavor and texture. Iāll come back again, but customer service needs...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe baking here is top notch! Note: I went with a seasonal brown butter peach bread pudding and a mystery box of 9 day old pastries (inside were 6 cheese danishes and 3 muffins).
4 stars rather than 5: This place is unpredictable. I understand that they get their ingredients seasonally from local farms, but you have no clue what special pastries may be on the menu aside from checking their instagram on a Saturday. I got there late (around 10:00am) and they were out of most of their specials. Then, I tried this place early--15 minutes after they opened--and the only pastries they had available were a couple of croissant variations. I was told they were still baking things. Understandable, but again,...
