I never write negative reviews because all you have to do is avoid the place and all your problems will go away. BUT, I loved everything about this place. The food was phenomenal the first time I came here. The Happy Hour is worth it, go take a look at the menu and definitely order the crab cakes, rattlers, happy hour drinks, $23-10 ounce Pat’s ribeye. The second visit: There was a mistake on the kitchen’s end. I will not detail it in the review..the food was still delicious and I ate it all. The manager handled it gracefully and nothing is free in life so I was going to gift the difference to the wait staff. However, I did not….I even subtracted from the original tip amount because the Gen Z workforce is just something else….. I asked to pay out my bill, which was $65 and some cents. Everette charges me for $70.xx, to which I tell her that she charged me incorrectly due to my balance being $65.xx…… She looks at me like I am a crazy woman….I point out the balance to her on my receipt and she points at the tax, and tells me that it is $70.xx because the tax is $4.xx. I proceed to tell her that I have worked at restaurants and I know what the tax means, but it should still state it as the “Balance due/total balance.” (She pointed to the bill multiple times that it was tax). No it is not girl, the subtotal is after taxes… She proceeds to ignore me and changes the charge to the correct amount. The bar staff had a changeover (new bartender takes over her shift, while the one we had is closing out of her shift). The new bartender had accidentally charged my coworker’s drink on my bill. It seems as if she figured it out after she proceeded to ignore me and changes my bill after a short interaction with the second shift bartender. There is no apology after her handing me the new receipt with my new charge. No, oops, the bartender taking over the second shift accidentally charged your bill instead of your friends…So, as I am fuming, I proceed to inform her that I was going to give her the difference of the kitchen’s mistake on her tip, but now I am not because she never once said sorry for her mistake/ overlooking the matter of charging me incorrectly. And yes, I was clearly upset at this point but she shushes me by putting her hands up to imply that she gets the point. No sorry, no apology, no my bad, no nothing. She proceeds to whisper to her coworker like I am the crazy lady freaking out over $4. As I go into the car, venting to my coworker about what had happened, the biggest point that I am sad about is that I will never return to this location to eat at Salt Grass again. I have raved to over ten employees about how much I love Salt Grass’s food and steaks over Texas Roadhouse. But it doesn’t matter how good the food is, when the service is that bad, you do not want to return. So this review is in place for the new generation to straighten up their act in the workplace. Whether it is a restaurant, a pet grooming store, or gas station, it does not matter, when you make a mistake and someone calls you out for it, own up to it! It only takes one apology for that person to get over the whole ordeal, but that was not the case. So I will make a big deal out of it. I have worked 12 years in the restaurant industry, making $200-$500 a day on bartending and waitressing. It was a blessing to earn that amount to support my rent, schooling, family, and life. I hope they train up their wait staff on how to handle basic situations.

I was skeptical of going here because the last time we ate here, it was not very good. This time around, however, I was pleasantly surprised with my steak (1st picture). I ordered the "Pat's 12 ounce ribeye." I requested the steak be cooked blue, and it came out very close to it. The flavor of the steak was great and the ribeye had the right amount of fat. Three of the other guests with me stated their meals were fantastic as well. The wait staff were very friendly and quick to provide the service we required without smother ing us while we were eating. The music played in the background at a level that increased the ambiance without making it difficult to hold a conversation. The prices are very reasonable for a steakhouse. We paid $170.00 for five people to eat (four steaks and one chicken fried steak), two appetizers, three teas, and one beer. I do wish, though, that their butter had a bit better flavor. The four star rating really stems from the fact that the chicken fried steak had too much breading and one of the steaks was tough enough to the point that it seemed more like a sirloin than a ribeye (a ribeye is what was ordered). I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a laid back steakhouse that has a good price.

We had a great experience coming here for date night and were more than satisfied with our orders! The food here is pretty awesome. From the moment we were first seated we were attended to wonderfully by wait staff. Their hostess and waiters were all very polite and consistent with checking in on us throughout our meal. We were always offered refills on our drinks promptly and we felt really welcome at this establishment. Our waiter talked us through the menu upon seating us and helped us get a feel for what this steakhouse has to offer. When he recommended the Queso Fresco as an appetizer, that was a real winner for a couple that usually passes on appetizers! I highly reccomend their Queso it was so tasty. For the main course we both ordered the Prime Rib and they were absolutely wonderful steaks, cooked to perfection. Unlike other steakhouses their steaks were not overcooked at all, they were tender and flavorful. My boyfriend ordered his medium rare and it was very juicy and tender, my steak I ordered well done was still quite tender in the center with less pink in the meat and a lot more char on the sides! Both of us loved their food and would definitely recommend trying the Saltgrass steakhouse, this place was love at first bite.

First time for my mother and self celebrated Mother's day, unaware we required reservations and sat at the bar. Couldn't order a drink because they do not accept Colorado digital Driver license. I ordered the steak with crab meat, fried breaded asparagus and truffle fries, with a loaded baked potato soup, my mother ordered a ribeye with a loaded sweet potato and house salad. The gentleman brought me a salad instead of soup but corrected it. My mother thought her salad was fresh and I loved my soup. However, the meal went down hill after that. My mom ordered her steak medium with pink in the middle what she received was medium rare, she couldn't eat it, so she picked around it and practically left the entire steak on her plate! My steak was cooked perfectly however the crab meat was over powered by a pepper flavor and eating the steak separately it had no seasoning and fell short. The asparagus wasn't fried long enough, they weren't crispy, it was too hard and inedible! The truffle fries was blasted with so much garlic I couldn't eat it. My mother's loaded sweet potato was hardly loaded especially for a up charge. The waiter at first was great checking on us but then went MIA, I wished he would of checked on us towards the end so I could of had him re-cook my mother's steak, my asparagus and possibly ordered additional toppings for her sweet potato, a different side for myself, refills for our drinks but nothing! We waited for over 20 minutes as we just sat there bored unable to leave, I visually searched for the waiter or anyone to assist in bringing me our check! The waiter finally approached and asked if my mother wanted a box for the steak I said "no, it was undercooked and she did not like it." He looked at my plate full of sides and asked if I wanted a drink to go and I said no, as I thought to myself I would of preferred a refill during my meal not on the go. He did not apologize nor ask to correct anything, just gave me the check, we paid over $100 with tip and left. Do not...

This used to be one of the few passable Steak Houses in Colorado Springs.

After tonight, me and my family will never, buy food from this location again.

They ruined our 3rd year anniversary and our founders birthday and were not willing to make things right

In the many years we have been frequenting Saltgrass it is usually good, recently though theu have been slipping. Missing food on orders, cross contamination, cold food (like temping at 74-80°), etc...

Tonight, there was cross contamination of shellfish and steak. This was a family dinner with multiple steaks and shrimp. They were all tossed together, not only changing the flavor of all the food, steak and shrimp, is also cross contaminated the steak with shell fish. This has never been an issue in over 20 orders and there is no where in the apps to order to let them know there may be an allergy.

The first time we called about this as, our founder is highly allergic to shell fish and now has nothing to eat for his birthday that won't send him to the hospital, we were told it's GrubHub's issue and theu would give a full refund.

After speaking to the useless people at GrubHub we were told they would only refund $41.41 out of the ruined meal which, doesn't even cover the ruined food, let alone fees, etc... the meal was cold when it arrived, the food was cross contaminated as stated.

When we called back to talk to the Manager on Duty to give them a heads up, we were met with a less than spectacular attitude, and instead of seeing how they could make it right, proceeded to tell me the person who ordered should have called them to let them know.

This should not be something that the customer gets punished for, and in my 30+ years as a food service professional have never experienced.

Thank you for showing how low Saltgrass in Colorado...
