Slim Chickens — Restaurant in Colorado Springs

I visited Slim Chicken on Austin Bluffs and Academy. Danger, my cashier, was incredibly helpful and friendly. Annabelle, who brought me my food, had a smile on her face and asked if I needed anything else, showing her friendliness and kindness.

The staff regularly checked on the tables, which was awesome. Service is a top priority for me, and this place definitely deserves 5 stars in that department. However, the seating area is a bit limited, and there was quite a crowd during my visit. Despite this, however, I still think it deserves five stars.

Since, despite the crowd, the line at the register remained relatively short. One standout feature was the 27 different dipping sauces available for chicken strips and wings. They also have a larger assortment of teas, such as peach tea and raspberry tea. The wife approves.

I found the chicken to be very tasty, and the fries were equally enjoyable. Both my wife and I have been fans of this place since it opened. They even have a small balcony seating area for those who prefer some fresh air.

The price is also weren't too bad. $8 for chicken sandwich, fries and a drink when there are places out here charging double for less value.

I also tried their milkshakes, and I was pleasantly surprised. They offer a variety of flavors, including pumpkin and pecan, which gives them an advantage over Chick-fil-A.

It's worth noting that they have a student and teacher appreciation day every Tuesday with a 15% discount. Plus, you can order online or download the app for added convenience.

The efficient drive-thru, similar to Chick-fil-A's, is staffed with people checking on your order, making the process smooth and quick. All in all, Slim Chicken at Austin Bluffs and Academy is a fantastic spot for a tasty meal with...

So this was OK. I do love that there are so many chicken options these days but we're now hitting the point where I'm ruling out the ones that aren't above average for my personal dining. When there are so many great ones, the good ones kind of get left behind and that's where I am with Slim Chickens. My daughter loves it and it might be her favorite. I guess i'll have to ask her, but there aren't any of them where I live and that's fine. It's like that episode of Parks & Rec when Ron and Chris had the burger cook off and everyone liked Chris' fancy gourmet turkey burger but they loved Ron's regular burger with no special ingredients because ground beef is always better than ground turkey. We are talking apples to apples here but if this went up against Chick-fil-a, Zaxby's or Super Chixx, I'd respond the same way to Slim Chickens as everyone did to the turkey burger. It's all good until a better option shows up. Additionally, where i live, I can think of at least 3 local spots that I prefer in addition to the larger national chains. The service was god, the restaurant was clean and comfortable. I will say that I particularly didn't care for the gravy dip. I thought I was getting chicken gravy, not that white, country stuff. That may have been part of what put me off. I wish that had been specified somewhere before...

First time trying Slim Chickens and I have to say, WOW! I was washing my car next door and thought hey, that place looks good so I decided to walk over. So glad I did.

The menu looks sooooo good, but I decided on Chicken and Waffles. I will say this. My expectations were low. I’ve only ever had Chicken and Waffles back home in L.A. at Roscoe’s so I wasn’t holding my breathe.

The girl taking my order was nice and so respectful and the place looked spotless. Very impressive. Paid for my order and sat down.

Wry quickly Joe, who seemed like a manager brought my order to my tables, but there was a problem with it. O no!

Not to worry. He fixed it with no hassle which was awesome: short moment later and my food came right back out.

Man…it was delicious! Waffle was good, but the chicken stole the show. Juicy is an understatement. It was juicy, but not greasy. That was what made the tenders. The spicy bbq did have a kick and was very tasty.

11/10 for this place! Am def coming back again! Thank you Sandra and Joe for making my first time here a good one and getting me...
