AVOID AT ALL COSTS- Dirty, poor service, food poisoning.
Super disgusting place. We stopped by on a Sunday going through the state from out of town and it was one of the few places open that seemed to have a little bit of everything for the family. Now I know why most places here are closed on a Sunday. If I had know how dirty the place was before we had ordered our food we would have left, but there weren’t many other options.
It was open for brunch for just a few hours before our visit, not sure why the place was so dirty. There seemed to be a fair amount of staff but most weren’t very active or attentive. The floors were so sticky I could feel my boots pull up with every step. The bathrooms were filthy, blood on the stall walls and rusted metal pulling off each stall door. One toilet was clogged and the handicap stall had a broken lock. The gas station bathrooms we stopped at just before were sparkling in comparison. I ended up getting ill from the food, it didn’t hit quite right after I finished eating and I knew I’d see it about 7h later. I did. I’m not a sensitive eater, I can down a bag of Taco Bell with all the sauces at 2am weekly without issue. When I tell you this was the most violently ill I’ve been from food I mean I had half digested cheese sauce rocketing out my nose. By the look of the floors, bathroom and dirty silverware we were handed I’m assuming the food handling leaves much to be desired. Avoid at all costs, next time I’ll buy a snack from CVS and keep...
Read moreSeems to cater to the college crowd, which makes sense given location. The furniture appeared to be original to the flying saucer bar that occupied the space years ago. Wither it was or not, the furniture had definitely seen better days! We were at a super wobbly table that required a good sand and stain. Plus the women's bathroom was grimy!
We went for brunch on a Saturday and the college kids were already enjoying bottomless mimosas. The food was more upscale than expected for the vibe and matched typical brunch expectations. We enjoyed most things we tried except one of the portions in the bacon flight. I can't remember which, but it was too salty, but other folks may like that. Skillet potatos, avocado toast, etc were all reasonably up to standard but didn't overwhelm or exceed expectations.
Overall, as a middle aged person I felt a bit out of place though the food was good. I won't be running back though because there are so many other brunch places that have a better vibe for my...
Read moreMy family and I came in to Republic for the first time this Saturday Feb 6th at 4:30pm. They weren't busy but it still took the waitress 23 minutes to bring us drinks. We barely got our food order in as she was ready to walk away.
We ordered wings, they showed up messy, without chips and no with no plates or napkins. Instead of waiting on our food to get cold and our waitress to pay any sort of attention to our table my husband went up to get plates. Once the chips showed up we had to hollar at the waitress for extra ranch as she yet again was leaving our table before we were finished talking.
After we opened our silverware my husband found a hair wrapped in with his knife. Also our drinks stayed empty and we were never asked if we wanted a refill.
At the end of our meal we ended up having to flag another girl down for boxes and the check.
Despite all of the issues the food was very good. It is unfortunate tha the service...
