I stopped in at Flatiron Tavern on a Thursday evening around 5:15 before the Blue Jackets game, and it was busy! We managed to snag the last available table, but they mentioned they were down a server, so it was a bit hectic. While we were eating, they were letting people know there would be about an hour and a half wait, so I’d definitely recommend getting there early if you can.
Despite the rush, the service was solid. Our drinks were refilled promptly, and the food came out in about 30 minutes from when we ordered.
I tried 4 different sandwiches:
Flat Iron Philly (Ribeye, Habanero Pepper Jack Cheese, and Veggies): This one was quite spicy, maybe even a bit too much. The heat overpowered the flavor, and I usually love spicy food.
Flatiron Cuban: Also very spicy, again overshadowing the flavor. It was tasty, but I’d have enjoyed it more if it wasn’t so intense.
Patty Melt: It was good but pretty basic. Didn’t have much flavor, and it ended up being my least favorite of the bunch.
Club Sandwich: This was the surprise winner! Really delicious with a great flavor combo, and I’d definitely return just for this.
Overall, I’d rank the sandwiches like this: Club Sandwich Philly Cuban Patty Melt
I’d definitely recommend Flatiron Tavern and will absolutely return to try more. Just be prepared for a wait if you come...

Read moreI used to love getting the impossible cheesesteak from here, but it's totally not worth it anymore. The quality went down. They used to cut the impossible meat similar to that of a cheese steak, but now they just cut up a burger and put it on a bun. It's very sloppy and not worth the price. This happened one time before, but I thought maybe it was just a fluke. I decided to give it another try. Unfortunately, this is the new way they are making their impossible cheesesteaks. My suggestion is to go back to the old way. You guys have competition and they are much cheaper and don't charge a transaction fee. They won't charge an extra $2.50 to get something other than potato chips. I'm extremely disappointed, but just wanted to give you some feedback from a vegetarian. We don't have very many options, but I would rather go across town to get a better option that's...
