An absolutely fantastic spot to heighten the uptown Columbus, GA experience!
I finally got around to writing some google reviews. Sad to see that they are temporarily closed, as we were looking forward to pay another visit.
On our prior visit, I got the Manhattan with a soda and voodoo chips, as well as a pretzel with beer cheese. The shoestring fries on the Manhattan is an absolute feat of hotdog engineering, and the pretzel with the beer cheese was also nothing but pure house made bliss.
No idea if the pretzels and beer cheese are actually house made, but it sure felt and tasted like they were made with love, and in the end, thatās all that matters.
The cashier, who seemed like he might be the owner of the place, was very friendly, patient, efficient, knowledgeable and helpful. Bonus points if he really is the owner- it makes the establishment feel that much more local and cozy!
Finally, the prices were what really threw the whole experience out of the ballpark- the level of affordability combined with the level of service, food, and atmosphere this place exhibited was just everything one would look for on an occasion to eat out.
Now that this place is temporarily closed, hoping that cashier we met that day is doing well, and looking forward to when this place...

I've been to hotdog stands, hotdog carts, hotdog emporiums, and hotdog conventions. But Frank's Alley in Columbus, Georgia? It's like Willy Wonka decided to make hotdogs instead of chocolates and handed the keys to Frank!
You walk in, and BOOM! š It's a carnivalesque explosion of sausages, buns, condiments, and pure unadulterated JOY. If the idea of a technicolor hotdog wonderland was a bit too vanilla for your taste, there's Frank. If Salvador Dali and a circus ringmaster had a baby, that'd be Frank. A laugh that can be heard from three towns over and a heart as juicy as the hotdogs he serves. š©š¤¹āāļø
Want kimchi on your dog? You're getting a story about the hot dog wars of '97. Ask for pickles? Prepare to be dazzled with a juggling act worthy of a standing ovation. And donāt even get me started on the beer cheese- it's a wild journey of addicting hilarity.
So, if you want to munch on the world's most delectable hotdog while diving headfirst into a whimsical tornado of delight, run to Frank's Alley. And if you're expecting just a "normal" hotdog experience... just don't.
5/5 - would dive into this sausage-filled wonderland again. And again. And again. Bravo, Frank. Bravo. ššŖš„šš

Ā Ā Ā Read moreFrankās is my favorite place in town to get a good hot dog. The new owners and staff are beyond friendly, patient, and just all around excited for you to be in there! I felt so welcomed just coming through the door. my first time in since the re-opening I was going to get my food to go but the atmosphere was so inviting and warm I decided to stay and eat inside. They have designated places to write or draw on the walls, you can even take a Polaroid and put it up, so fun. They walked me through the whole ordering process and we even discussed future hot dog ideas! The new owners are full of excitement and joy over the whole process and so open to new fresh ideas. Thereās really not a negative thing I could say about the whole experience, but what really got me about Frankās alley was when I returned the following week. the staff remembered me and what I got the first time I was in! I really was impressed by the level of attention and care from the staff. On top of the food being SO good I just felt like I was part of the experience. Genuinely a 10/10 every...
