An Unforgettable Family Adventure with "Waffle"! As a retired Army Veteran, I've seen my share of excitement, but our recent whitewater rafting trip with Whitewater Express Columbus GA truly blew us away! I brought my wife and our daughter, and I'm thrilled to say it was an absolute blast, especially since it was their very first time whitewater rafting. From start to finish, the experience was top-notch. The staff was incredibly professional, safety-conscious, and had a fantastic sense of humor, which immediately put my wife and daughter at ease. They explained everything clearly and patiently, making sure everyone felt comfortable and confident before we even hit the water. Once we were on the Chattahoochee, it was pure exhilaration! The rapids were exciting and challenging enough to get the adrenaline pumping, but also perfectly manageable for beginners. Our guide, Waffle, was absolutely phenomenal! He expertly navigated us through the rapids while pointing out interesting sights and keeping us laughing the entire time. My wife and daughter were screaming with a mix of excitement and joy, and it was incredible to see them embrace the adventure so fully, thanks in no small part to Waffle's awesome guidance. Beyond the thrills, the scenery was beautiful, and the overall atmosphere was one of pure fun and enjoyment. This wasn't just a rafting trip; it was a fantastic family bonding experience that created memories we'll cherish forever. If you're looking for an incredible outdoor adventure in Columbus, GA, whether you're a seasoned pro or a first-timer like my wife and daughter, I wholeheartedly recommend Whitewater Express and especially ask for Waffle. You won't be disappointed! We're already planning our...
Read moreWe had an incredible time at Whitewater Express on the Chattahoochee River! Honestly, we didn’t expect much at first—it’s a world-class rapid system tucked away in what felt like the middle of nowhere in Georgia. But as soon as we arrived, the charming town and the energy of the river completely won us over.
Our guide, Giggles, was phenomenal. Not only did he keep us safe through all the rapids (we didn’t fall once!), but he also made the whole trip a blast. He taught us fun tricks, let us take control when we wanted to, and even helped us intentionally flip the raft at the end just for laughs.
One of the best parts was when a solo rafter, Jet, joined our group. Giggles let him guide the final leg with support, and it totally made Jet’s day. We even got to do the paddle slap under the bridge—which sounds like a gunshot echoing through the canyon.
There were so many good moments: the beautiful scenery, natural rock formations framed by city buildings, and the peaceful float through the lazy river section. Giggles also got us to the front of the boat pack, so we had the lazy river to ourselves at times.
A standout memory was doing laps on the Class IV rapid—but Giggles spiced it up with a “bull riding” challenge where we’d hang onto the front rope with one hand and throw the other in the air like rodeo champs. Pedro flew off the raft (the only swimmer of the day!), but even the Class V commercial rapid didn’t take anyone out.
This was the perfect mix of adrenaline, laughs, and unforgettable moments with friends. Huge thanks to Giggles for being an expert guide and bringing so much heart and humor to the trip....
Read moreMy first experience zip lining - SHORT VERSION - it was so freaking cool! Highly recommend - the guides Colton and Blake added greatly to the experience / LONG VERSION - the first zip was awesome, but I felt like I missed some of it because it was my first zip and I was literally trying to figure out how to control my body (backwards or forwards? - left or right?) and I think in doing all that I forgot to take a look around at the view - because it is literally over the Chattahoochee River! - in addition to the zip lines from Georgia to Alabama and back to Georgia, we did the aerial and treetops courses - these were so so so worth it - the aerial course had x2 levels and each were quite challenging, but especially the higher up one - the treetops course offers multiple smaller zip line routes through trees in addition to the bridges and obstacles - it was on these zips that I got much more comfortable with "how to zip line" and could really take in the experience - actually doing the treetops course with the guides (Colton and Blake) makes it even better - there is engaging conversation and of course some coaching and tips n tricks - but also got to talk about life, and plans, and passions - really added to the experience - I will most definitely do this again! Thank you Thank you - NOTE - the only photos taken by the guides were during the very first zip from Georgia to Alabama - these did not really do much for us - and not sure i would suggest taking phone/camera - too much risk in losing PLUS i would have been fumbling with the camera instead of...
