A (sorta) new addition to the North High Street area, VHS Social Club bets it all on a comfortable take on 80's nostalgia.
It features a stage replete with LED signs and blasting the decade's pop, a bar festooned with flat panels playing this or that 80's movie, arcade games, small VHS-playing CRT TVs on some of the tables with a shelf full of compatible videos, and even a sort of living/rec room nook with a theater screen and video games.
Amber was tending the sadly dead bar that night, and was happy to fix me a quick NA drink and chat with me while I figured out my next move. This is absolutely a place to bring friends, and I have high hopes this bar will find its legs soon. I bought a shirt in support.

Read moreBrand new place to hang out. Went there before a show at the Shadowbox. Shows a lot of promise and definitely has an 80’s basement rec room vibe. Small menu, full bar. Excellent staff. Atari 2600 plugged in with a small variety of games. Large VHS library with a bunch of those mini TV/Vhs players at tables. A few arcade video games from the VHS era including Pac-Man.
