Let's start with atmosphere. I went in recently with my mother and most of the lights were off at the counter. We thought it was closed at first. It seemed the machine lights were broken. I'm not sure.
Second with the atmosphere is the style and vibes of the spot. I'm not sure what the owner was thinking but it's a bit of a mess. The counter is a standard, cheap looking ice cream area. The machines aren't high quality and look cheap. Especially the ice cream freezer container.
Then there's a section that is kid friendly? It feels like a daycare with an odd arrangement of stuff like pink fluffy cheap couch and a pink car toy mat underneath it with cheap kid toys in front of it. Just not a vibe I enjoy or want to be around while having ice cream. I don't mind kid stuff or being around kids, but not when it's cheap and off putting.
There is a selfie wall with grass and a bright sign. I'm honestly not mad at this style or vibe. I believe this should be her style focal point and resonate with the rest of her shop. If she stylized the rest of her shop to be a "Hollywood influencer" vibe like her wall area, I think it would flow well. It be cool if it was a Hollywood exclusive "richy" vibe entrance and sitting area. I think it could work.
Lastly is the "game zone"?!? I'm a massive gamer and love video games. But this is the saddest attempt of a gamer corner I have ever seen. Literally a tiny sign with 2 tiny cheap looking arcade games. One is a gambling game and then pac man. Gambling machines are always tacky and cringe. Then the pac man was just sad. I'm not an arcade person but this was extra sad.
I wish there was a spot where it was esporte or a gaming arcade that was modernized with high tech and good quality computers.
I know this is not their focus. The owner has a lot of ideas and no focus. If she was able to update and stick to a specific style, her aesthetic would feel a lot better.
As for the food, I've had better. I decided to get a lychee bubble tea. I could clearly taste the powder texture. At least the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI ordered a bowl of scooped ice cream and a milk tea so I cannot comment on the quality of the rolled ice cream. As for the scooped ice cream (of which the flavors are completely separate from the rolled ice cream flavors) I got the "kitty kitty bang bang" flavor which I believe was vanilla ice cream with oreo crumbles and strawberry swirl; the quality was okay, nothing special especially at the price point. About half of the flavors use names that do not describe the flavor, but if you order in the store I'm sure the staff could describe each flavor for you. I think there should be descriptions for the flavors when ordering online but this isn't a huge deal as this can be easy to add if they want. As for the milk tea I got taro milk tea with popping pearls and it was REALLY bland. There was not enough taro powder or sugar used to change the flavor from just tasting like watered down milk from all the ice used. The amount of ice also completely eliminated the ability to taste any of the popping pearls because they could not sink to the bottom of the cup due to all the ice in the way. Perhaps the rolled ice cream is better, but the scooped ice cream is just okay and the milk tea was a massive...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām afraid we have become regulars at this spot because everything is SO delicious! Hands down THEE best ice cream in the greater Charlotte area! So many options! They have regular ice cream, waffles, boba, ICE CREAM NACHOS, and my personal faveā¦ROLLED ICE CREAM!!! The ingredients are top quality so the ice cream tastes really fresh! There are mostly teens that work here and surprisingly they are super nice and professional. There was some miserable lady complaining about her boba and trying to tell the actual employee how she should have made it, very rude and bitter lady. The employee was very kind to her anyway. Amazing ice cream and...
