Went in with my family- just two adults and a child on a Sunday night. The slowest service I have ever seen. For the three of us to order and get our appetizer, entree and desert it was over two hours. Our server was unfriendly and unhelpful and very inattentive. We had to ask for everything at least twice and sometimes we never got it. Ordered unsweet tea and asked for lemon and sweetener (diabetic) never got it. Asked for it four times- never got it. My boyfriend asked for hot sauce when we ordered, again when appetizers were delivered and again when entree was delivered and didn’t get it until he was almost finished eating. It’s a Cajun cafe, hot sauce was hard to get? Our server was more interested in the table beside us and visiting with them than she was checking on us. We had to ask for refills constantly. I ordered a chicken ceaser salad- it was $15 and the smallest, most wilted basic salad I’ve ever seen. It was drenched in dressing and the greens were wilted and soggy. There was no cheese, barely any crutons, just dripping wilted lettuce and dry chicken. Honestly a $5 prepackaged salad from the grocery store would have been more appetizing.
The fried appetizer was great. We got the canal street combo and the rat toes, boudin balls and pickles were all very well done. My boyfriend like it so much he ordered another rat toes to go. The desert was delicious. My kid enjoyed his dinner. But both the jambalaya pasta and the salad were overpriced, underseasoned (unexpected at a Cajun cafe) and unimpressive.
Both my boyfriend and I have been in the hospitality business. He is currently a head chef, and has previously been a server, a line cook etc you name it. I was a hostess, a server and a pastry chef in the past. We get how hard it is. And I can count the times I’ve tipped less than 20% on one hand- but I did last night. We paid $100 for a meal for three people and left disappointed and frustrated.
If you go- stick to fried stuff, their drinks (drinks looked great) and...
Read moreMe, my husband and 3 children walked in and stood at the host station at around 8:30 last night (Mothers Day)...lol..Ya'll, the hostess was sitting there conversing with a male employee...and not once skipped a beat as she gazed into his eyes during their "intense" convo. Since it seemed as if she was too busy to HOST..my husband rushed to the bathroom...(nature calls) and when he returned...we were STILL STANDING IN THIS GIRL's FACE as she was "he he'ing" and "ha ha'ing" with her male companion! So I usher my children along (13, 15 & 22, old enough to notice some bs when they see it) and I politely inform them to sit WHEREEVER they want since....we weren't being seated. She hears me, snaps her neck around, lets out a nice little lip smack.."ugghh how many?" lol!!!!!! We get seated in Phoenix's area...IF YOU GO TO RAZOO'S...SHE IS YOUR WAITRESS TO GO TO!!!! LOVED LOVED HER. Every time lil miss chatterbox walked by, she made sure to give our table..a "lil glance"..to the point where my girls (13 & 22) noticed and wanted to say something. As we leave the restaurant, she opens the door and says..."happy mother's day to whoever the mama is" lollll!!! Now, mind you, I'm white, my husband is black, and our children are bi-racial...I'm in my 50s, and my Husband is about to be 50....REALLY? Razoo's...you might want to pull her from the entrance..Because her lack of respect for her job, for your customers, and herself is enough to make someone turn around and leave the establishment and hop on here to write a review! I NEVER write reviews..EVER...but..for this one...I had to. Will I go back..Yep, the food is good! Will I be as dismissive if I encounter the same treatment from the...
Read moreLet me start out by saying: I frequent this location often & recommend it to many. I made an order to the “to go line” on Wednesday 7/2/2025 for the BB Jalepeno Fish. The gentleman I spoke with told me I’d be able to sub the tilapia for catfish for a $4 upcharge, which I agreed to. He unfortunately failed to let me know that was only an option for the normal order of the Jalepeno Fish. I called back after realized that my total was only $11.76 instead of the expected $15.76. He cancelled that order & proceeded to change my order for me. The $11.76 was never refunded. I gave it a few days knowing we were going into a holiday weekend. Today (7/9/2025) I called the actual location to speak with a manager regarding the refund. The manager on duty stated that his name is Ty. Ty proceeded to get on the phone and ask what I’m talking about and stated that he has no knowledge of an order. I offered to give him my order number. He proceeded to brush it off and say “well you didn’t speak to me nor did I make you a promise. I would call them back if they made a promise.” His tone was extremely careless and condescending. I let him know that he was no help and disconnected the call. As a manager, that was extremely unprofessional. Instead of dealing with them, I’ll contact my bank & take my business elsewhere and I recommend that...
