Really good people here—especially the manager (I’m not sure if he’s the owner, but I believe his name starts with a B). He clearly takes pride in his restaurant and comes across as a genuinely good person. I was there with my son, and when my card kept declining (it turned out my bank had just locked it), he was still willing to let us have our food even if I couldn’t pay. Thankfully, I was able to unlock my card and complete the payment, but that kindness meant a lot. My son really enjoyed the visit, and we even ordered dinner from them the same day.

The only honest critique I have is about the baked ziti—it was basically just noodles and sauce, with no ricotta and only a little cheese on top. I’m not sure if that was a mistake, but it felt like a waste of money for what I got. Other than that, no complaints—the service and hospitality made the experience worthwhile.

Update (September 5, 2025) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐: I visited this restaurant yesterday(4 days prior to my original review)and had the pleasure of speaking directly with the owner, Benito. When I first arrived, the young Caucasian girl at the counter wasn’t very friendly and when I asked about the baked ziti. Later, I spoke with Benito and explained that I wasn’t complaining about the dish—I was just curious why it was made differently. Even though I initially insisted he didn’t need to remake it, he persisted, saying it wasn’t okay until it was right. When I got home and tried the new baked ziti, it was absolutely delicious 😋🍝.

He even included soft, fresh Italian bread—not the hard kind you usually get from most Italian restaurants 🥖✨. Benito explained that unlike many restaurants that pre-make baked pasta and reheat it, his dishes are made fresh to order. It was simply a mistake the first time, and he handled it with such care and pride 👏❤️.

I want to clarify that I’m sharing this not to encourage anyone to try to get a free meal—Benito was incredibly kind, and we should always respect people’s businesses and the effort they put into their food 🙏.

If you have any questions or concerns, I highly recommend speaking with Benito directly—he genuinely cares about the quality of his food and the experience of his customers. I’ll be going back today for lunch because I truly enjoy the care, quality, and attention to detail this restaurant consistently puts into...

Was guessing that this place would be fairly empty for dinner on Valentine's Day and hey, I was right. I will hit on food and service separately, starting with food. You have to like a certain kind of pizza to really enjoy Romano's pizza. Lots of cheese and toppings with a chewy but not thick crust. Actually the crust gets a bit soggy in the center if you order too many toppings. Ordered a large (14") with some veggies on half and some veggies on all. More on that when I talk about service. Also ordered the pizza fries. Interesting idea but bland, soggy fries with melted mozzarella and a side of pizza sauce to dip. Crispy crinkle cut fries would have been an improvement, sprinkle some oregano, pepperoni bits mixed in, anything would have added to it. We also ordered the fried mozzarella sticks, but our waitress never wrote them down, so we never got them but at least we didn't have to fight it on the bill.

Now about the service. Maybe it was just because it was V-day, but service was a little lacking. Ok, it was not even the B-team or the C-team here. As I said, ordered two appetizers, but only got one. When ordering the pizza, we asked a few questions about toppings, to which our waitress (with the little star tattoo on her hand) had very little information. Asking if it was cheaper to order a cheese and add toppings or get a specialty pizza and add toppings, she admitted she didn't know. I realize that my wife can be a bit picky when she orders food, esp pizza, but the waitress responded "I don't know" to four questions in a row. Then the pizza and appetizer came out at the same time. One of the toppings we ordered was green peppers. Most places use raw peppers so that they are crunchy. Instead, we got cooked mixed peppers which added to the sogginess of the crust. Best part though is that my wife had asked about the mixed peppers on the menu and the waitress said that it was an old menu and they didn't have mixed peppers anymore.

It was a cheap dinner, not exactly what anyone wanted, but we got what we paid for, just not what we ordered or expected. If you like cheese and toppings, here is your...

Worst Customer Service Ever!! My fiancé and I decided to try this place out before we went over to the movies for our Friday night out... & It was our first & last time. We were the ONLY people in the restaurant & ordered drinks & appetizer.. everything was good we ordered our meals then waitress was returning to table from filling up my fiancé’s sprite and it went all over me, cell phone, table, appetizer, & floor. I was of course shocked at first bc it was freezing but tried to laugh it off even though I was drenched. We moved tables and I dabbed off what I could. Waitress didn’t seam like she really felt bad about it didn’t come out and apologize.. just tried to hurry and clean it up. She then asked if we needed anything.. we said no thinking she would bring us another appetizer since we only ate about 20% of it. It never came so we asked for another one & she said she would have to check... well meals came then appetizer shortly after. Then check came and 0 discount. Well since my jeans were soaked and looked like a peed myself I knew there was no way we could go to the movies. Our night got pretty much ruined by this but I didn’t want to make a big deal about it.. I would just expect better customer service by at least getting a free appetizer since soda was spilt all in it and had to move tables. So we asked could anything be done.. she said she would have to check. We could clearly see her asking the manager.. the manager acted like he knew nothing about what happened.. we were the ONLY people in there.. had to move tables bring out mop bucket and all. Well even if he didn’t know and your employee says.. look I spilt drink on her and they want a discount... at least do something to make it seam like you care. Another waitress came over and gave us our bill and said they were able to give us 10% off.. $2.45. Really? Wow.. our original waitress never came back to apologize or say have a good night.. nothing. I’m more mad about the lack of customer service from waitress to manger then that I had sprite split all over me & couldn’t enjoy the rest of my night. I see why nobody was there at 8pm on a...

I really don't like to leave negative reviews, but for the price, this was really not it. We usually get Isabella's, and decided to try this place. Got a Meat Lovers 16 inch, and a half/half 14", with some cheesy garlic bread and cheesy fries. The taste of the pizza itself was very muted, and mid-tier. The cheesy fries were literally just an aluminum pie dish with a mound of frozen fries covered in a couple slices of melted cheese, and you could not even taste anything. The cheesy garlic bread looked like two pieces of store-bought sub bread with more of the same flavorless melted cheese on top. Nothing more. Could not taste any garlic whatsoever. The MAIN issue though was with the pizzas. The toppings were laid out in such a way that there were almost entire slices with nothing on them but cheese; the slices were SO unbelievably floppy that I was in disbelief (undercooked) as they drooped past 90 degrees, touching my wrists/forearms. I think I will give them one more try, and if this experience was just some sort of fluke, I will change my review and/or add another accordingly. Sorry for the harsh words guys. Just being totally honest. I spent almost 70 dollars.

This place is the only REASON I hesitate to move from Concord 😂 my goodness so freaking good. I'm originally from Manhattan, NYC Where I lived for 14 yrs of my life, so trust me when I say this is the closest to authentic NYC style pizza that I've come across in the 16 yrs I've lived in NC... It's my favorite place to order a large pie! The dough is always perfect, the cheese isn't plastic cheap nonsense it's authentic all around. I asked them to sprinkle cold cheese after bake and it changed the game for me, it enhanced the entire experience more than I thought possible THANKS to their love of the Pie and quality ingredients. A forever Customer

It’s Valentine’s Day and my husband and I desired authentic Italian food. Romano’s Pizza and Italian Restaurant did not disappoint us! I had the eggplant parm with a side of penne and homemade bread and it was so delicious. The eggplant was creamy and the pasta perfectly cooked. The bread was fresh out of the oven! My husband had chicken parm with a side of sautéed broccoli cooked in a lite garlic and oil sauce, again perfectly cooked and the flavor outstanding! We will be back! Thank you Romano’s for a taste of Italy and NJ which is where we hale from!
