Walk in the door and before you even sit down, the señora is already yelling across the room asking what size your menudo is going to be. That’s hospitality here: loud, unapologetic, and perfect.
The menudo? Hands down the best in Concord. I’ve tried them all, and none of them hit like this one—rich, honest, soul-soothing. Consistency is the secret weapon. Every bowl feels like it was made for a Sunday morning hangover or a homesick heart. Her husband’s in the kitchen keeping the wheels turning, the waiters rotating year after year, and those handmade tortillas… easily the best in town. Thick, warm, chewy—little edible passports back to the homeland.
Yeah, the price creeps up every weekend, but who cares? You don’t come here to save money. You come here to be yelled at with love, to eat food that feels like it’s been simmering for generations, and to leave full, satisfied, and a little more human.
