We used Taco Cabana Catering a few years ago for our Wedding Reception and had an amazing experience. Plenty of food and everyone seemed to really enjoy it. So, naturally when it came time for my parents’ fiftieth wedding anniversary this June, we decided to use them again. We ordered ala cart and everything seemed great since I had an order confirmation and my teenagers were set to pick up the food for us on that day. The ceremony ended and my kids drove 30 minutes to pick up the food since we were told they couldn’t deliver. Upon arrival, they were told that they did not have an order for us. I sent the confirmation email and they were told it would be ready in 15 minutes. We were supposed to have two catering containers of Chicken, one catering container of Steak, two catering containers of rice, two catering containers of onions and peppers, one catering container of beans, a lot of tortillas and one container of pico de gallo. This was supposed to be enough to feed 30 people. Taco Cabana came out with three small to-go orders with the meat, peppers and onions all mixed together, two pie tins of rice, one pie tin of beans and some tortillas. They told my daughter that they couldn’t use the big catering containers due to Covid. My daughter made them bring her more tortillas but was told that the containers may look smaller but had the same amount of food in them. This is not possible. We ended up with only enough meat for a few people instead of 30. My husband is also vegan and was counting on the peppers and onions for his food and ended up not being able to eat any of them since they were mixed in with the meat. I emailed Taco Cabana and received an apology email and was told that I would receive a 20% discount. I responded that was not enough and wanted to hear what went wrong with the order. I didn’t hear anything else back until I threatened to write a negative review or escalate to the next level. I immediately received a phone call from someone at the corporate office and she offered me 50% off plus $40 for our troubles. She also stated that the district manager was going to the store location to investigate what happened. I told her that 50% off was not even enough since we did not receive 50% of the food we ordered. She argued with me saying that they weigh everything and it was the same. I sent pictures showing the size of the containers and explained that the vegies were also mixed in. I was told that the refund was processed and should show up on my card. I still have not received any refund and have repeatedly tried calling and emailing with no response. My parents were upset because they promised people a meal that they could not provide them with. I was extremely upset since this was the part of the night that I was in charge of and it couldn’t have gone much worse. I was also upset since they took complete advantage of the fact that we sent teenagers to pick up the food and shorted them when we would have known better. All around, one of the worst experiences I have had with catering.
Update: We did receive a full refund after...
Read moreWalked in to the disorganization with very dirty floors in kitchen behind counter, there was like 4/5 people in immediate site but still took them about 5min to get to me and i was the only person at counter. I ordered my food which was 2 grilled onion tacos with guacamole salsa and the peach empanadas. Payed waited at at least 10min to get this simple order. I got my food, sat down to eat and it was the wrong order. I took it back to have them make it right and was told that what i received was correct even though it was obviously different from description on menu. I explained to the lady that i didn't want corn on my tacos and wanted to try the guacamole salsa she began to remake my order. As im waiting im standing by the condiments bar. Right before i got my order a roach ran across the condiment counter. In horror and disgusted i asked to have my money refunded. As the man did this i told him about the bug i saw and his reply was "i know we had so and so out to spray im sorry" This is a very different experience from what i had there before! Very different and i don't plan on returning any time soon... I went up the highway and visited the location on 242...
Read moreNot the same as thirty years ago, upon entering I observed big menu above but no staff anywhere, As I was standing there I saw no one behind the counter or in the kitchen for a great while. One male employee finally arrived & took my order. I walked past the counter and saw a bucket with caution apparatus around it due to an apparent roof leak. Walked on past and saw the dirty looking salsa station and nasty looking soda fountain machines. My food seemed like it took forever to get. The dining room was grimy & an apparent homeless person was loitering in there. There was one guest in there besides me. Everything was terrible. The tables were grimy. The food was undesirable. The Tortillas tasted and felt like wheat pita bread. The rice tasted like instant rice. The beans had an odd taste and I couldn’t eat them. The sopaipillas looked and tasted like they just microwaved them. This was a terrible experience and I could’ve gone to the grocery store and bought a frozen mexican dinner that would’ve been cheaper and better. Taco Cabana used to be wonderful. I won’t be back. I definitely...
