Went to this restaurant today and ordered shrimp scampi. It was served incorrectly for traditional scampi. When I brought it to the servers attention , the manager came out and said this is the way I make it. He demanded I leave and never come back. I was very upset that he treated me like a dog. Instead of solving the food issue, he banned me. He has no respect for his customers and I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. Please look at these two photos of shrimp scampi that were taken at Leone's restaurant only 4 months apart. Not only are the number of shrimp consistent but the sauce is darker and the one that I ordered and the one that was 4 months ago you can see that it looks more like what I wanted as far as traditional scampi. This tells me the chef is not consistent with his entrees. And to tell me to my face this is the way he makes it is incorrect as 4 months ago I read one of his reviews and took a picture to compare to my shrimp scampi and there nowhere the same looking entree. If the chef of leoni's had served me shrimp scampi the way he served a patron 4 months ago there would have been no problem. I find it very disturbing that when I told the server that I did not want or accept this dinner they told me that I had to pay for it anyway even if I sent it back. No restaurant in our surrounding area would ever ever tell a patron that they had to pay for something they did not like. Restaurant owners and chefs will bend backwards to please a patron so they will come back and give good reviews. If there's a problem with food at a restaurant a chef and manager will gladly make the customer satisfied and do whatever they can to please. NOT at this restaurant!!! Instead, the chef and manager In BANS people from the restaurant if they give constructive criticism and are not satisfied with the entree. Whatever happened to the phrase the customers always right???? I am putting side by side the shrimp scampi that I ordered the other day and a photo of shrimp scampi at the same restaurant four months ago. You be the judge?? As far as I can see they look...
Read moreNote: this review stands between 5-4 stars. Went here for the 1st time with my parents on Monday May 12th 2025 for some dinner. This is a cute little Italian restaurant that is in town. One can park in the street, and it was easy to find parking. Was greeted by a host, who sat us at the table closest to the door. Now i didn't mind this, but am sometimes cold, and maybe wasn't a good idea. Table was comfortable. Server also greeted us right away, and it was the same server we saw rush to the back while parking. lol She was very friendly and polite. We started with waters. Another con is that they sort of have a small menu. We took some time to look over the menu. Finally, it was time for us to order and I ordered the special for that day which was a Flounder Franchise. My dad ordered Chicken parm, and my mom ordered feticini alfredo. Waitress did a good job of refilling our waters. finally, got our food, and found that the portions were extremely small and not as much if one goes to another italian restaurant. Anyways, I enjoyed and completely devoured my flounder franchise. It did taste like a lemony sauce, but it was very good. tried my mom's food, and i thought it was cheesy. I'm not one for cheese. We all did finish our meals. After we finished, the waitress brought the check over and the flounder was from murrell's inlet which is local and very steep in price. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the food, but man. We must have spent like $90.00! We paid with credit card and left a cash tip. Perhaps we would be back again,...
Read moreWe were greeted & seated immediately upon arrival by a beautiful lady named Sue (from Chicago as is our hometown too) The place is quaint and cozy. Table are covered in linen. A whole bottle of chilled water on each table. They don't serve alcoholic beverages, however you can bring your own. We had The Easter Specials; Appetizer of Fried Calamari. I didnt like it. Very mushy. Took home but threw away.
Dinner: Whole Fried Fish served over Risotto covered with a red sauce. Deliciously Memorable.
Stuffed Flounder served over spaghetti (was supposed to be linguini. They didn't tell us of the menu change).
Dessert: Tiramisu. Delicious Cold Rice Pie(can't remember the Italian name) wonderful.
The desserts were huge portions but I was enjoying everything so much, we had already started eating our meals when I remembered to take pictures but totally forgot dessert photos.
Our server Linda was WONDERFUL. the Chef came out and checked on all the tables. We really enjoyed ourselves and loved chatting with Linda when she had a free moment. Thanks for making our Easter Dinner scrumptious & memorable. We...
