While the ambience is on point, the customer service received a zero!!! It’s probably not fair to generalize, but I have to speak based on my experience. On 10/27/19, I decide to get some curry goat by itself. The female server, D ( I will refer to her as D for anonymity) appears to be very annoyed as I inquire the price of the curry goat. I was very puzzled with her reaction, so I looked at her and look at her name tag hoping she would be polite and offer a much better service. Unfortunately she did not care and continue respond to my inquiry in a very rude manner. Interestingly, the manager was there watching and did not have a clue how to address the matter. The manager did not even attempted to intervene, given that you could be losing a long term customer. Even though, the service was so poor I decide to purchase the goat. Another server stepped in and inform me that, there’s a little wait time for the goat. I stepped over to the other side of the counter by the cashier, and wait over 5 minutes for the goat. During my wait I decide to purchase a large spice bun along with some coconut cake. As I was waiting additional workers came to the front and was involved in a very loud dialogue with each other in their native language. In addition, one of the lady uttered to me “ come mi fren” ( seriously, this is how you address customers) this was an indication that she’s ready to ring up my order. I politely let her know that I was waiting for my curry goat. At this point they continue with their loud dialogue and no update to why my order was taking so long. As a Jamaican I was really disappointed with this service and the unprofessionalism. This is what I like to call the typical Jamaican customer service, where the servers acts like you are begging them to serve you as if you’re not supplying the revenue for their paycheck; and no urgency to get you your in a timely manner. Golden Krust, May I suggest carefully screening who you put in place to represent your business. Also, it would be helpful to provide on-going professional development for your staff and definitely your managers if you plan to grow your business. Finally, I will not be returning to the Golden Krust ( located in Conyers). Always remember your customers have choices, and it’s a privilege to earn our business. We make the choice to support so you can remain in business. Totally...
Read moreI’ve been coming here for years!! SO much to say but for the most part, I’ll stick to my big points 1) coming from Caribbean decent and from NY, I can say I’ve been blindly searching high and low for perfect oxtails and to see if anyone can beat GC in GA. I can honestly say, NO ONE has. I thought because it is a chain (although delicious), the smaller restaurants with someone’s auntie might be even better or add something special. Never happened! 2) the FISH SOUP and CHICKEN SOUPs are amazing. I’m so grateful (especially as a chain) that they are unafraid of scotch bonnet peppers. Some people don’t like Spicey but it’s so refreshing to order meals that I already know I won’t have to come home and add hot pepper sauce to. Thank you so much! 3) I love the Coconut shrimp surprises and other dishes that are there on occasion outside of the norm! 4) Servings are NEVER scarce and I appreciate that as well. 5) once in a blue (I WISH it was more often), the rice and peas give me potent thyme and a good hint of scotch bonnet pepper. Always good but it’s sooo much better when they do that. Ok, now my annoyances: 1) the fee for using a debit card (who uses cash anymore?) That’s not right 2) if there is a slither left of let’s say Mac and cheese or Callaloo and I’m sick of cabbage or rice and peas, there is no reason you can’t sub the cabbage for callaloo or rice for mac n cheese. Pay as a side when it’s not a full side worth left? You can’t sell it as a side at this point anyway so why not sub? I find that petty and ungrateful of your patrons. That is my BIGGEST annoyance of all. 3) (not really an annoyance) but I wish collards was an option as opposed to cabbage lol. Cabbage ofcourse is much easier to cook but if they ever had a collard/cabbage option and threw some smoked meat in it??? Chiiile it’ll be over!! That’s really all my biggies. Y’all are still my favorite restaurant and that is the truth but certain nuances irk my nerves lol. Oh, and if the oxtails ever go down in price, please be honorable and follow suit. It’s getting crazy. Any chance y’all could make turkey wings? ...
Read moreI want to start out my review, by establishing I have owned and operated a successful computer business of my own, that I built from the ground up, for over 20 years, so I know a thing or two about how a business should be ran. First of all, the food wasn't even that good, which by itself would not have warranted a bad review from me, but the service was even worse, let me explain! The wife and I came in and both ordered the Jerk chicken plate, and when I paid for the meal, I asked for a starry soda drink, but because of the language barrier, the young man that was helping me gave me one of their other women there Jamaican drinks, and since I did not want to embarrass him I took it and tried it. I took one sip, and it tasted like cough syrup, so I went to the counter and asked The manager for an exchange, and showed them my full drink that I was returning. The manager told me their policy was no exchanges just because I didn't like the taste, and I tried to explain I was given the drink by accident because of the language barrier, and she further continued to try and embarrass me, talking over me, and refused to give me any kind of exchange, all this over a drink mind you, that cost them I know less than three cents to pour. In business management, the customer is always right, as you know most restaurants will give you an exchange or refund on a plate of food if you don't like it, as long as you don't eat much of it, and food is a far greater expense for their overhead than a simple drink, I know that because my father owned an operated a restaurant many years ago that I worked while I was in high school, it's just ridiculous, what bad management, run off a potential customer, cause a bad review against the business, all over a three cents drink, that's the kind of genius management this restaurant has! Stay clear of it, nothing good...
