Logan's Roadhouse — Restaurant in Cookeville

We had never been here before, the reviews weren't that good. I had read they remodeled/revamped and the current reviews were really good so we gave it a try for our wedding anniversary. We had the onion petals which were yummy, the sauce could've used a little more kick like cayenne. Hubby and I both had the ribeye with ribs as an add-on and garlic butter in the steaks. The garlic butter was amazing and took the steaks, which were already fantastic and cooked perfectly, to the next level. Baked potatoes were fluffy, not hard and dry. He had salad, which was delicious, and they carry our favorite salad dressing Catalina. Win/win on that one! I had the loaded baked potato soup but probably not order that again. The broth had no flavor. I make it at home and it's better than any of the chains, but this one was the bottom of the list of all the chain soups. Maybe I should give them my recipe lol The dinner rolls were out of this world, I could just eat a platter of those. Our daughter has the grilled Coastal Carolina shrimp. Which she loved, she probably could've eaten them out of shrimp! Wasn't a big fan of the rice it was served on though. The star of the evening though was our server Isabell. We watched her run the entire floor and she never skipped a beat, always smiling, on top of drink refills, checked on us numerous times. We over tipped and she deserved every penny! Thank you Isabell for making our anniversary dinner phenomenal!

Came back with my parents and great uncle the day before Father's Day. Not such a good experience this time. The only plus was our server. It food took forever, the ribs must've been from the bottom of the barrel, dry with hardly any meat, my uncle's ribs were deformed looking. After we bragged about how great it was, we sure sat there with egg on our face. Dropping down to 3...

Wait staff was not knowledgeable about menu selections. Management either❣ loaded mashed potatoes ❓ weren't LOADED with anything❣ in a small bowl with cheese and few pieces of bacon and I managed to find one little thin slice of a green onion top, yes one piece. If there was butter or sour cream I could not taste it. Microwaved until the cheese was soft and partially melted❣ I ordered the broccoli with side of drawn butter, no one knew what drawn butter was❗The rolls were okay as far as the taste, but were thin and tough and didn't even resemble the pictures of their famous rolls. After asking about the ribs, server had to go ask Management if they were actual RIBS, we were assured by Management, yes they are St Louis style rubs, we ordered the $8.00 add on to the 12 oz ribeye steak😂 There might have been 4oz of meat on the steak, the rest was big gobs of fat and grisle, not what I would have expected for a restaurant quality RIBEYE STEAK🎯 I have bought much better ribeye steaks at SAV A LOT for $5.99 a lb, or $4.99 if I buy the whole ribeye❣ Then there was THE RIBS, $8.00, for a piece about 3in x 4in, with 3 little pork chop bones on it❣ Yes, they sell pork chop bones and try to pass them off as ribs🎯 I sent them back, and later was offered an apology from the server, not the manager that assured us they were St Louis style RIBS❣ Needless to say this was 2 visits at the same time, FIRST AND LAST❣ If you want a steak, go to OUTBACK OR TEXAS ROADHOUSE, good luck finding a Bar b que restaurant that actually sells RIBS, and not PORK CHOP BONES🎯 OH yeah, can't have peanuts there anymore, COVID you know🤣 DO NOT...

Honestly. I was not impressed. I order the Logan. Medium rare. I like my steaks rare but at least warm so the steak was cooked fine. However the steak has zero and I mean zero seasoning. Some smokey flavor as well. They were out of fillet as well so I settled for the Logan. The Logan was almost impossible to eat. Extremely chewy and full of connective tissue. My wife got the same but hers was not as bad as mine.

Their advertised fried are waffle fries but we did not receive those. We received what I call normal string fries like McDonald's. While they were still good, we were never told of the change.

I also ordered mash potatoes and they forgot the gravy I ordered.

While none of the sides are a major issue and still tasted good, the lack of quality control was rather supprising given how few people were there when we ordered.

Staff was good however. Nothing over and beyond but nothing to complain about at all. Staff checked on us often and fixed the issue with the mashed potatoes quickly after getting them to me.

Did not like they were out of steak and then the steak I ordered was due to be alright - but came out to where I did not even eat but 25% of it.

My wife had zero issues with her steak and her salad was well made. Her Mac n cheese came out fine as well.

Both kids revieved what they needed as well and had no issues.

For 50$ for us it was mediocre at best. We likely won't return often. But beyond this review, I won't steer people away. I just won't be giving them...
