Panda Express — Restaurant in Cookeville

Panda Express is hands down one of my go-to spots when I’m craving something delicious, fast, and satisfying. Every time I visit, I’m reminded of why I love it so much. The food is consistently tasty and fresh. Their prices are super reasonable, especially for the generous portions they serve.

My usual order is chow mein noodles with orange chicken and teriyaki chicken—an unbeatable combo, in my opinion. The chow mein is always flavorful and perfectly cooked, not too oily, and packed with just the right amount of veggies. The orange chicken is the ultimate comfort food—crispy on the outside, tender inside, and coated in that sweet and tangy glaze that hits all the right notes. The teriyaki chicken is juicy and savory, with just the right amount of sauce to keep it from overpowering the dish.

We usually have a pretty good experience with this establishment however tonight was just absolutely unacceptable. It started off with being rudely told that it would be a 10 minute wait if I ordered the super greens side- I stated I wasn’t willing to wait so I changed my side option. I then proceeded to have to wait 20 minutes in the Togo parking for the orange chicken (no wait was ever mentioned of this.) I had gone inside to just cancel the order after 20 minutes of waiting only to see that my food (I saw it sitting on the counter from the parking lot) had been just sitting on the counter getting cold. The employees were all VERY unprofessional the food was mediocre the service was absolutely terrible and the attitudes of your workers should definitely be better. I’m so disappointed. We got home w our food only to discover we got what looks to be the bottom of the barrel w both meals that we ordered.. so now I’m just confused as to if they were just being lazy or if we really had to wait on food… tried to call and speak w a manager but was hung up on. Was there yesterday 8/1/19 for the first and last time. Food was terrible. Food was cold. All sauces tasted the same, like salty soy sauce with corn starch thickening. No Chinese spices or flavoring was added. There were 3 of us. One person was Chinese and a very good expert on Chinese food. She was not pleased with the quality of the food. Don't know how anyone could possibly foul up Lo mean but Panda Express sure does. We all ordered something different but each item tasted the same. Some items were not on the bar ie. green beans and chicken which we wanted but when we asked we were told they would have to make some more 2 of us ordered that and they only brought one. Lots of young staff there. Looked like they were lost. Not professional or informed. I've eaten in many Chinese restaurants in the world. This does not come close to being acceptable Chinese food.
