Waffle House — Restaurant in Cookeville

I only put 2 stars because the food was amazing as always at any Waffle House. We waited 20 plus minutes for the waitress to take our order while our asthmatic son coughed because he was hot. We broke down a few miles from Cookeville and walked from the Motel 6 across the street to feed our kids. Our son got got hot waiting for traffic walking over there and the wait was absolutely ridiculous. I worked at a Waffle House myself and definitely took an order at the register then made sure to get customer drinks at a table, this waitress took all carry out orders which was about 5 maybe 6 before getting our drink order with an asthmatic child. We did not visit this location again during our stay and unfortunately will not be revisiting at all. She didn't call the orders out right and said she was new as well, the night waitress was very unprofessional to us and was saying to the cook another waitress called in again and they were speaking about about that employee in front of all the customers there. We love Waffle House and was embarrassed this waitress acted the way she did in front of our family and other customers. Thank you for the tasteful food but we will not be returning to this location unless the night waitress who served us is no longer there. Nobody should be that unprofessional in front of customers and no table should have to wait that long for a drink order, we understand the food delay but she could've stopped to take the drink order and serve for a...

Ordered online since it was next to my hotel at 9:13. It said my order would be ready in 8 mins. They did not call the order back till 9:35. When the server said it would be about 20 mins I did not expect that meant it will be till the order was called back. The excuse was they just got rushed and she was waiting for other orders to be called back. The cook moved very slow, and apparently can handle only a couple of orders at a time. No one seemed to take pride in their job. In the past I have always admired how hard WH employees worked, and the speed they worked, but this has been the most inefficient crew I have seen anywhere, and not a single person should be retained, even if they have to close this location.

I am not sure if this is just a bad location, or if the other stores has gone downhill just as bad, but I do not think I will take the chance. It is sad to see an American icon to go so...

So there is a lot of construction going on for Rogers Group road widening in this area so traffic is pretty hectic This establishment needs more handicap parking. The food was not as expected on the portions of the hash brown when you ask for a smothered and covered which is cheese and onions on your hash browns You would expect for them to smother it with cheese and that didn't happen They are rationing the portions out but still you're paying the higher cost for the food service reset down the tables and the menus were dirty from the last previous customers my friends had to wipe their area up Atmosphere again It's a good location but the construction going on really is a hassle and I'm sure that's why this establishment has raised their prices on their food because business is slowed down Again I could be wrong about all this but that's just the way I feel and that's just the way I'm going...
