I Love Mochi — Restaurant in Coralville

I am realitively impressed with this place. I do like how there’s a company in this space now actually bringing business to this part of the mall. I never really saw that before while living here. The service was great, we did have to wait a bit for our corn dog that we ordered. I will say that the corn dog was just okay. We got the potato corn dog half and half. Which means we did half cheese and half hot dog. I was thinking more of a hot dog wrapped in cheese and then breaded and fried. It wasn’t like that. But, this was my first time trying this and maybe this is how they are? The cheese part of the corn dog was good. A lot of cheese and tasty, but the hot dog portion was underwhelming. The mochi donuts are soft, freshly done, and have numerous creative flavors.

The chicken tasted amazing, but it was a small portion and a ton of sauce.

The service was great, and the store was neat and clean.

Unfortunately, like another review, I ate the corn dog thinking I was eating cheese, but it was raw dough. I had a half mozzarella- half hotdog potato corndog. Great idea, and crunchy on the outside, but unappetizing when you realize it’s raw dough.

I thought maybe it was just a one- time occurrence and because we had been waiting for chicken and a corndog.

Hopefully, a more thin and even dough distribution or starting with a lower temp/slower cook will get better results...

I'm still teetering on a 1 but I stopped by to try a Ramen Korean Corndog and splashers. It looked good so I thought I'd try it out, biggest waste of 20 dollars, the wait was about 20-30 minutes, the corn dog dough was raw, and the splashes tasted like watered down diet Gatorade. I don't know if because of the long wait that the ice had already melted or not, but the drinks were just very bland. I had no issue with staff, since you have to order through a TouchPad so no complaints there. But after that, I can't recommend it and I won't be going back.
