Mr.Shawerma — Restaurant in Coralville

MR. SHAWARMA IS THE SHAWARMA KING! The food reminds me of home, food cooked by our mothers. I heard of this place from a friend and made a 2 hour trip straight there the same week with my mom. I bought falafel, chicken shawarma, tahini, and much more. I strongly recommend the chicken shawarma with both tahini and garlic sauce on the side to try it. I'd add a picture but I ate it before I could... no joke the aroma is mouth watering... so we bought more to go and bring to my sister and nephew.... and maybe more for us.. anyway. Everyone should try shawarma once in their life.. so...

The food from here was tasty, but I was underwhelmed with the restaurant given it's good ratings. I got the kebab wrap and had to go get pizza after because there was not much to it. There was basically just meat, no lettuce, tomatoes, or anything like that. For $10, I was definitely expecting to get more from the wrap. Also, I asked for a glass of water and was told that they do not have it so I bought a bottle of water. Then my sister went and asked for a glass of water and they gave her one. I felt deceived just so they could get more...

We purchased the Kabab wrap and it was okay but not what we asked for. It says it comes with tahini sauce but seemed to be drenched in some type of chickpea-based sauce. Maybe the tahini was made too thick and gave the chickpea vibes but we did not like that at all; threw the whole wrap off. We strongly suggest doing it without adding the tahini or chickpea-like sauce and fries to the kebab wrap. The wrap would be bomb with just tomatoes, onions, parsley, and feta cheese with the sauce...
