Jimmy John's — Restaurant in Coralville

We went through the drive through today and received some of the worst service I've experienced at a fast food restaurant. When we were ordering the woman taking the order was rude and made it clear that we were inconveniencing her with our order (not a difficult order, just two meals). We got to the window and she didn't say a word to us, took our payment, and handed it back. After a few minutes she handed over a bag of sandwiches, no chips or drinks. We waited a minute or two, giving her time to slowly get the next items. She didn't get them, just asked us "what are you waiting for?" My husband told her that we were waiting for chips and drinks. She took a minute and grabbed a bag of chips and slapped them over and slowly proceded to get a drink. She handed that over and turned back. My husband asked for my chips and drink and the process continued over. After all was done, we thanked her and she didn't respond. I got my sandwich and found that it wasn't what I asked for (extra pickles and mayo and was given lite mayo and pickles - this was incorrectly entered by the same woman, not the fault of the sandwich makers). My husband's drink was extremely watered down that it had to be dumped down the drain.

Unfortunately, this was the worst experience we have had at this location, but it is consistently poor service. The staff are frequently unpleasant and they never improve. It is clear that there are no professional expectations at this location.

We've already put in reviews on the Jimmy John's site, just wanted to make others aware that it is better to avoid this location until...

Front door not open, one car only in front of us at window and I have to wait 5 minutes to place an order (all no big deal until now!) 2 sandwiches ordered and we get home and both are incorrect! Tabitha at the drive thru was super rude and it showed how much she hates her job! I asked for a slim 4 and asked to add lettuce, and her response was “I cannot do that.” You literally have all the power to do anything for a customer for their sandwich and this is what you say to one?!!! I mentioned that I will pay for the lettuce and her response again was “I cannot add anything to that!” But she suggested that I order a regular 4 and I have to explain that it is for my little kids and all they want is Turkey, lettuce, and bread! I literally told her that they don’t want cheese, tomatoes and mayo so it doesn’t make sense to do that! We get home and my beach club is missing all the turkey meat (not the only reviewer that has posted this) and my kids sandwich has everything including being charged a $1.00 for extra cheese when I clearly told her they don’t want all that! You have the power to f-up one’s order so bad, have a five gallon bucket as a tip jar in the window, but cannot provide the basic service??!! Just close the damn store or find more competent people to work! If I was the owner of this joint based on all the terrible reviews, I would work limited hours by myself until I could find people to do so! But then greed is a bad thing because your corporate office wants you to open so many more of these in 5 years when you cannot clearly run and manage...

I love Jimmy Johns, but I will never go to this location for a sandwich because Staff is rude and unprofessional

When ordering, the order taker named Anthony was rude to me. Said cuss words when he was charging. I was asking him about the new turkey sub and he wouldn’t answer my question just said oh that’s #17 and it wasn’t.

When ordering the subs he said they included tomatoes and lettuce- which I know, but guess what? When I paid and was waiting for my order to be made he said “we ran out of tomatoes” I was the only customer there. How did he not know there weren’t tomatoes? It’s as if there was tomatoes, but since it was almost closing time (I arrived at 430pm and they close at 5:00pm **what kind of Jimmy Johns closes at 5pm in a Saturday when they’re located next to a big mall!?) I feel as though they just didn’t want to cut tomatoes. He told me the subs came with tomatoes but apparently didn’t know they didn’t have tomatoes which is something they should know. I also bought a drink and there was no ice, they didn’t bother telling me there was no ice until I asked. I wouldn’t have bought a drink if there was no ice.

Additionally, they messed up on my order. They gave me the wrong sub. They also had one of the tables by the entrance with dirty plates, napkins, and coats completely filthy.

This place isn’t the place to get Jimmy Johns, it’s best you go to Iowa...
