Good atmosphere with an upscale ambience located in the nicer part of town.
The first thing I noticed was the very limited menu potions. Don't expect to see your typical appetizers that you would find in other proclaimed pizzerias. Also, having a 10-person table doesn't seem to make sense to me if the food items off of the menu are personal-size pizzas with only 4 options off the main entrées. I think it would make more sense to have the option of shareable appetizers (not just salads) and larger portions of food, especially considering its size, that bar atmosphere, and it's proximity to off campus living.
The service was pleasant, but was rather slow. With only 4 tables in the restaurant it took almost 10 minutes to give me a beer sample. I also saw one patron waiting to be seated for a good minute (I don't think she was even noticed). Not too bummed about this as our service was good nonetheless. She recommended their best seller, Vice City and my fiancè got The Falco. I am not a big fan of the hot honey as it overpowered the entire meal and I couldn't taste the actual flavor of my food. It was rather good, but I would prefer if I could taste more of what I ordered besides the honey. My financè's food tasted more of a bland tomato paste and the crust was definitely not holding up to the very small portion of toppings carelessly put on top of it. There's also small "burnt spots" on my pizza, which I know is uncommon for stone-baked procedures. However, those spots tasted rather burnt as well so I just skipped the end crust.
I kind of want to come back and give it a second chance and maybe order a burger next time, but the pictures doesn't seem that enticing. I'm afraid this is another one of those places with an identity disorder. It's giving off that bar-type urbanized vibe where you can just kick back and enjoy the not-so-shareable pizzas with your buddies, yet trying to be that upscale restaurant in the nice part of town with not so much upscale food options to offer (besides the price). A simple revamp of food selection isn't a bad idea especially while business is slow during the pandemic. It'll give people itching to go out something new to try or even...
Read moreI don’t usually write reviews, but our experience at Marquee Pizza was so frustrating, I feel like it needs to be shared.
The service was absolutely terrible from the start. It wasn’t even busy when we arrived, but it still took forever to get our drinks—or even just water. When our server finally came to take our order, she didn’t write anything down, which I immediately knew was going to cause issues (spoiler: it did). It took her at least 10 minutes to bring our drinks after we had already ordered our food, and when they came, they were in completely different-sized glasses. Just weird.
After waiting around 45 minutes for food, we finally got our salads—but they were wrong. I got the wrong salad entirely, and my mom was given the wrong dressing. Trying to get our server’s attention took another eternity. By the time I finally got the correct salad, my mom had already finished hers, and we’d waited an additional 20 minutes just for that.
The waiting continued. Our server kept saying our food was coming, but it never did. Eventually, my half pizza came out… but not my mom’s sandwich. At this point, we were starving and ended up sharing my pizza.
Then came another 20–30 minutes of waiting, and my mom finally asked if we could just pay and leave. The server said “sure” but came back with our check—and my mom’s sandwich. It was supposed to be a meatball sandwich, but there were no meatballs—just two sad little crumbs of meat. It was the flattest sandwich I’ve ever seen.
Throughout all of this, our server kept apologizing and making excuses that didn’t even make sense. Not once did she offer to comp anything, take something off the bill, or even seem genuinely concerned about the experience. And after all that, we were charged full price.
To be fair, the food we did get was decent. But it absolutely was not worth the headache, wait, or lack of basic customer service. I had checked reviews beforehand and saw mixed feedback—most of the bad ones mentioned poor service. I gave them the benefit of the doubt since it was just a weekday lunch, but I was so wrong. This was hands down the worst service I’ve had at any restaurant.

Read moreWalked in found out they only take in reservations. Waited about 20 to 30 minutes after we placed our order of 2 CANNED BEERS and ONE TAP BEER. After we got our drinks we got to put our order in and then we waited another 45 to an hour long for food. Not only did we have to wait forever for the food BUT we also watched OTHER PEOPLE GET FOOD before us that arrived AFTER WE ARRIVED. We also noticed our food sit in the window and get nasty for anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes. Chicken Parm was over cooked and the pasta had sat so long it developed a dry layer and formed together. 2 Burgers came out and the cheese was beginning to harden, were dry and they didn't know which burger was supposed to have no mustard. Also the waitress asked us to check for her AFTER SHE BROUGHT OUR FOOD TO US! What if we had an allergy to mustard?!?! Also the patties for the burgers were unevenly cooked one was well done the other rare to medium rare. Ultimately after asking and stating our disappointment to the waitress about lack of checking in and telling us any updates and taking another 20 minutes to bring us 2 more beers after the only time they came back to simply refill our waters and asked if we wanted more beers/refills they took their sweet time. After stating our unhappiness about the whole thing we were given a 15% discount. Do not recommend coming here. Price for entire dinner was outrageous 2 Michelob ultra, 2 Coors lights, 1 cider, 1 cheesy bread appetizer, 1 chicken Parm, and 2 Marquee burgers took from 6:55 pm until 8:10 was when we finally got served food and costed without discount 90+ dollars in total. Saddest part for me was I went to a cookie store across the street prior to the meal and that WAS...
