Enjoyed my sandwich and soup decently enough. However two things make it so i cannot give this place higher than a three. The price. I don't know if maybe I magically ordered the most expensive combo on the menu or what. But a ham & swiss sandwich and a cup of soup should not total to nearly 40 dollars for a singular person. That is insane.
What you get for what you pay. The food tasted good, but the sandwich was filled less than what you'd get at a cheaper location, making it mostly bread and sauce spread rather than lots of meat, onions, and cheese. For the price it was, That really drags my score down.
The staff were super kind and very on the ball. It was just exiting breakfast rush into lunch rush, meaning it was very, very busy. I saw staff cleaning, refilling ice machines, and getting through the order line very quickly and efficiently the entire time I was dining. Bless them I know this is a thankless job, and I appreciate them really putting in their all while probably dead tired from the first breakfast rush. The place was very clean and orderly for so many people being there. Big thumbs up on service.
Over all, good food, but I struggle to recommend it for the price, especially when there are all sorts of places that do breakfast, sandwiches, soups, and pastas in CC that do it just as well or better for cheaper. BUT, if you're into the aesthetics of a cute bakery and don't mind the price, I can see why it's very highly rated and I hope Corner Bakery continues to succeed in what it does. It just personally is not my favorite amongst places to eat in this town, but it is far from a bad...
Read moreI visited Corpus Christi for business several days ago. It rained the entire stay. I was hungry and wanted something light yet tasty. As a Washington, D.C. native and being familiar with the chain, I decided to dine-in. Christina took my order and was extremely friendly, well-groomed, and had a great sense of humor. These characteristics seemed to be the theme at this establishment (everyone being well-groomed and friendly). After sitting down, my food was brought to my table, and I ate and talked on the phone. Mariah was prepping the dining area for the store's closing; however, she checked on me several times, asking if I needed anything else and removing empty plates from my table.
As I was packing up to leave, close to the store's closing (around 8:45 pm), I noticed Christina dash out of the store (in the rain, with no jacket on) attempting to catch a patron who had just left the store. The customer left without one of the food items they had ordered. It was very dark in the wet parking lot, and the driver didn't see her flagging them down. She caught them before they could pull out of the parking lot and handed them their missing items.
I stood in the restaurant, watching the entire thing. I was soo blown away at the level of customer service. I asked her why did she do it, and her response was "They were nice; We close shortly, and by the time they would have gotten home and realized something was missing, would have been closed." This level of respect for customers should be recognized and praised!
Great job, Christina!! (Date of...
Read moreI really wanted a grilled cheese with egg n ham. But I knew that places like IHOP n Dennys were gunna be packed around 11am. So I tried this place for the first time. A cute little cafe diner. Small breakfast menu but was able to order what i wanted. Loved the constant coffee smell. Place looked clean n the workers were professional. 20 bucks for the meal. I thought it was a little pricey but given the circumstances it did well. I really liked the diner the division n the set up. The right side was set up for small groups. N the left for larger groups. So if ur a solo patron u dont get caught in the mix of the loud boisterous noise. The pancakes were delicious. The sandwich was exactly what I ordered, it was good for a breakfast sandwhich. Its more of a cafeteria type place. So dont expect waitresses to check on you. If u need n e thing else u need to get back up and wait in line. Overall experience, I really enjoyed my experience. It had a positive atmosphere n the pancakes were great. The breakfast sandwhich was fulfilling. Wish i had room to have ordered a sweet treat but i was full. Will definitely be coming back for another experience to try...
