Hopdoddy Burger Bar — Restaurant in Corpus Christi

My Boyfriend and I took a mini road trip to CC, and after a great day at the Texas Aquarium, we ended the day by trying out Hopdoddy Burger Bar for the first time!! Mannnnn!!!! And when I tell you the food was amazing!! Sheeeeshhhh!!!! We were immediately greeted by staff as soon as we stepped into the establishment and guided through the ordering process. (Which as a newby was pretty helpful) Once at the register we were greeted and served by Ashley!! Ashley did a great job of taking us through the menu and even gave us recommendations as to what to get, what was in each item, how items were cooked (all patties are made fresh so she let us know we could get them to our liking of pink-ish center and up to well done.) and has the best attitude you would like as a new-comer! Her communication and people skills were honestly part of the reason we enjoyed it so much! The fries were CRISPY!!!! Fresh out!!! And when the burgers came to the table, they were almost too pretty to eat. My boyfriend ordered The Mother Nature and I ordered The Wagyu Cadillac burger! When I tell you the meat juices poured out like the first rain in a drought! Believe me!! Best burgers we’ve tried in soooo long!

From that point on Ashley and staff would check up on us and were all so nice!

And as food would pass by (which looked super good) staff was kind enough to tell us what they were and that we could even order from our table!

Needles to say, we were stuffed but… not without washing it all down with a strawberry milkshake!!!

I've gone twice now, and this is the feel I get from this place:

Burgers are excellent -- a bit on the pricey side and I think it's plain silly they charge extra $4 for fries or onion rings when they already charge $7.95+ for burger or sandwich alone. Definitely a deal breaker if I have other choices for a burger choice in restaurants.

Additionally, I ordered the "beer for a buck" and was served (horrors!) Pabst in an aluminum can. Ugh. Two sips & I was DONE! They should provide choices or not bother at all. In my personal opinion, Pabst is the worst beer out there so I definitely will not purchase their "beer for a buck" in the future -- and if you are of the same mind, be forewarned.

They're Thai peanut burger is amazing as are the sweet potato fries, however, I'm turned off with the order-in-line service A) because I'm disabled, and B) the price of the burger with such only offered service. I'm additionally turned off by the additional charge of upwards to $4.00 for fries since their prices start at around $7.95 for burger or sandwich only. The Skinny Fries are really pathetic. It will also be a rainy day in the Sahara before I pay $9.95+ for a salad when the ingredients to make the salads are under $1.00 per package to purchase singularly much less in bulk for restaurant purposes. I mean -- seriously? 9.95+...

I just had to share the experience we just had. We went in and ordered the Cadillac Wagyu and the Double Bacon Jam (both amazing burgers, btw), sweet potato fries with chipotle aioli (this sauce is to die for) and mini shakes. Apparently, the order got mixed up with someone else's, which we didn't know about. We were fine and the wait wasn't even long. The staff, however, did feel it was a little long and they felt genuinely bad about the mix up, even though we know these things can happen and we weren't the least bit frustrated.. We love it there. But the manager came over and informed us about the mistake, and said he'd already comped our meal, which was SO nice of him to do! We were so surprised...they didn't have to do that at all, but were more than happy to. A cpl of servers also came over to the table to bring items at different times, and both were very sweet and apologetic. Again, we didn't even know there was a problem and we weren't complaining at all. They just took it upon themselves to make it right, let us know AND comped us. Now THAT is amazing customer service and we wanna thank them SO much for being so nice and professional! We even left a $20 tip in the jar bc it was the least we could do. Thank you again, Hopdoddy!
