Went with my husband on a Thursday at 4:30. It was pretty slow in there. This was our first time there but I looked online for details. I saw the Thursday special was unlimited wings and "blue" games for $20. Great!
We walked in and spoke with the woman about the chips and how the cards worked. She didn't mention the Thursday special. When I brought it up, she was very nice and told us we had to be seated and our server would hook us up with the wings and cards.
So we go over to the hostess stand. Despite there only being MAYBE 4 other tables occupied, she said it would be 5 minutes while a certain table was cleaned off. I understand that certain servers have certain tables. No biggie, we sat at the bar instead.
The bar tender was super nice. She got us a couple beers, put in the wing order and gave us our card.
The "blue" games were fun enough. We didn't want to spend a whole bunch on games. (FYI, there are 2 different kinds of games, the blue games are just like the action, shoot-em-up games, and the green games are the types that give you tickets.)
Overall, we had fun. But around 5:30-6, A TON of kids showed up. I thought this place was supposed to be geared towards adults. Maybe older kids, like 12 and up, but I felt like I was at Chucky Cheese! Kids running around, strollers everywhere. Is Peter Piper closed? They have beer, right?
A kid even bugged us about playing Mario Kart with him. It's a connected game so he just wanted to race other people, but this kid obviously didn't get his meds earlier lol. My husband was attempting to scan his card so he could play and this kid actually GRABBED it out of his hand, said "it goes like this" and ran it through the card reader for him. So we raced, and when the kid was done he came back over to us and climbed onto the back of my husband's seat, and it slid back a few clicks because it hadn't locked in all the way I guess. But jeez, quit climbing on stuff!
After that we went back to bar and ordered more beers and wings. We finished our first beers before the wings came out. Yeah, it's unlimited wing day, but maybe have the kitchen staff keep 'em cooking. Almost everyone there wants wings, prep a little better.
So we finally ate our boneless wings WITH A FORK (because it's pretty nasty to look across the bar and see some chick licking each dirty finger up to the knuckle like she has never tasted Buffalo sauce before and they OBVIOUSLY don't sell it anywhere besides Dave and Buster's. And they have wipes all around the bar to clean your hands, don't lick your damn fingers! Yuk!), drank another beer and left.
We'll probably go back, but it'll be earlier in the day. I'd like to try some of the other food, and try the...
Read moreWent on a sunday afternoon it was very crowded. Are wait time to get a table was 1.5 hours however i understand that since it is new. It is way smaller than i expected but we are not a major market so no big deal. The parts i did like was the fun drink menu the prizes were cool and not too hard to get. Prices were not too bad 9.99 for drinks and 12 dollars per meal. Many of the ticket games were fun aswell. The unfortunate things were mostly service related it takes around 15 min to get a drink the waitress does not check on you very often. We got up to get a drink from bar once and finaly waitress came back to us but only to tell us we had to be at the table or we would loose it. Another thing that sucked was the vr gane coat 5 dolars no big deal but when i asked how to pay for it the girl was no help she we needed to add money to card but it relly wasent clear on how to go about it. And the line at reaervation both was atleast 15 min. So we didnt get to do it. I also wish there was more fun games and less gambling games. The last thing that relly sucks compared to other dave & busters is ita clearly geared for kida and not for adults. Witch ia ok since i have a kid but realy kinda of expencive not to have fun as an adult. Also the food while affordable you can tell by watching the cooks dont order better food like steaks because they are not going to come out right luckly we ordered philly chessteak and sliders not hard to mess that up. I have to fell that the service will get better once ita not so crowded we might come back then but its realy just a glofied chucky chesse that cost $220 compared to chucky chesse costing $60 would rater take kid to chucky chesse and a nice dinner out and save...
Read moreJust play games. Do not bother eating there. The service was miserable. Our waiter spoke to us over a wall, and took too long to put in our drink order. He kept saying he was waiting on the bar to get our Guiness and Angry Orchard ready...nothing fancy. Then a manager came by and said the server asked him to tell us that they were out of salmon. We asked the manager to swap the meal and bring out wings and fries to get us started while we waited. He apologized and said their service was behind but there were only 5 to 8 tables being served. The place was empty.
They brought 2 of our meals while the other waited for the swapped meal. There has never been a restaurant in Corpus that I've had to add sauce to a steak but here I had to search for sauce, salt and pepper and ketchup for fries. None of that is at tables. Not even salt. The waiter was never easy to find but the bust boy worked his tail off. He was the only person working (I tipped him). He brought me ketchup.
The brussel sprouts that came with the steak were so burned they tasted like roasted marshmallows. I asked to swap the veggies and they said they would get out green beans. When we all finished our meals the waiter returned only to say oh no green beans yet. I told him to forget it and bring the ticket. They did and charged me for the salmon we never received and came back to apologize. They comped the bad meal and cleaned up the ticket.
Then when my son tried to close out and get his tickets redeemed. Two ladies ignored him chatting it up and a manager came over to tell them something before she finally decided to help him.
Just play games. Do not expect good food and...
