Let's just say my family and I made a poor choice when we selected this place for dinner. We will NEVER eat here again. I support establishments that value their customers and work towards better business practice when it comes to customer satisfaction. The owner of this place along with his obvious relative for a waitress was absolutely dishonest, arguementive and uncompromising. The issue was a price discrepancy over an add on item (salad). The waitress verbally confirmed a price of around 1.49 to 1.99 additionally when my husband asked. There was no need after that to assume she would be dishonest and forgetful about it later. After reviewing the receipt and seeing we got charged 3.99 per salad (3) we brought this issue up with the owner and relayed the conversation between my husband and waitress. The owner immediately sided with the waitress informing us that because she said she never told us that, he believed her. The waitress walks off not wanting a part of it which clearly showed quilt on her part. At this point it was clear she was his wife or relative. The owner begins to tell us that we should have read the menu for a price on a side salad because the waitress, "she doesn't know". Trying to explain to someone of that character that there was no need for us to look through a 3 page menu again, for a price of a salad when it was verbally communicated to us that it was around 1.49 to 1.99 was at a loss. The owner became arguementive and instead of trying to please his customers (us) to find a solution to things he continued to try to scold us about reading the menu. There was clear disregard to the fact that his employee weather she be his relative or not estimated a different price. The owner even had the adasity to ask if they sold salads in SA for that price as an add on to a dinner entree because he didn't think so. This being totally irrelevant of course to this situation only complicated things. In the end after disrupting his other customers he removed one salad. In the end my husband and I remained calmed and respectful, I can't say the same for the other party. This place needs staff that is knowledgeable about their menu items. The food was nothing special, over priced and they add gratuity for separate checks or a table of 5 with separate checks. The standard is usally...
Read moreAlways wanted to try this place based off yummy pics and good reviews, so when our regular local pizza place changed their hours we finally got our chance. So we ordered delivery through slice, there was a communication issue and our order was placed late. I called the restaurant and a man picked up the phone and yelled" HELLO, WHAT?" Then hung up on me. I tried again and same man picked up, but identified himself and restaurant so it was better until I told him that there was an issue with my order and if he needed me to clarify anything..he then rudely stated my order was not ready and I needed to wait. I told him that's not what I'm asking, but he just repeated himself so I just said okay and terminated the call. I should have been smart and canceled my order then.
Get order 1 1/2 hours later, and its nothing like I expected. The chicken Alfredo is half portion, but it's literally a toddler size portion. There is hardly any sauce, so it's very dry and tasteless. The chicken has a good flavor, but the meat was dry. Lots of salt later, it was barely edible. For $12.99 for less than a cup of food, that's a rip off. The pizza is on the very thin side, the bread is bland, but the sauce and toppings taste homemade and flavorful. It was barely warm though. The calzone was thick and a good size for price, but again their dough is bland and very toasted, it actually cut my mouth a bit. Very good topping to cheese ratio. The desserts were smashed, but from what we could salvage they were pretty good and probably the best tasting so far. The wings though..were horrible. The worst I have ever tried. 12 dozen wings, almost $20, that were small, thin, and super dry. Good amount of sauce, but the meat, what little there was, was like jerky. I felt that they may have been old and reheated too many times. They went in the trash. Called slice and recieved a $20 credit, but considering this whole order was $90, it didn't do much for me.
Very confused about all the 5 stars, I would not give this place a second chance nor recommend it. Should have just waited for New York...
Read moreMy first time dining in at maggies. As soon as I walked in. It was 12:30. There was no one there to sit me or a sign that said to go ahead n sit down. I literally stood at the entrance waiting for something to happen for 10 minuets until I decided to sit myself down. The dine in is small. N the tables r so close to one another u could hear everyones conversation. When I finally sat down the waitress/hostess told me to sit at another table because I was sitting at a bigger table. I get it. But this could have been avoided if i was greeted and directed at the door. The music played made no sense for what is supposibly an italin resturant. It was instermental orchestra. It was getting a bit annoying. The fountain drink machine is an old version. Customers were getting up to get their drinks cuz they couldnt wait for service. A limited selection in wine n it comes in small bottles. The resturant was in desperate need of a hostess n an additional server. It was just one women sitting, taking drink orders, serving, clearing tables n cashing out customers. Even though she was friendly the service was slow. Some people got up n left and some complained about the wait time. Half of the diner was closed down. Dont know why though. My order was taken at 12:50. I ordered a meat pizza with extra cheese n a spaghetti with meat sause wit a meatball. Food arrived at 1:10. Not bad. It looks good. The food was good but no big WoW factor that makes them.stand out from the rest. Overall experience was just okay. N okay is better than terrible. I would go back, to try another dish. But if the service doesnt improve n the wait time gets higher ill probably consider...
