Probably a fine experience if you're in a group, but dinner for two isn't a good option here. It seems they only have four small tables, for two guests, placed around the huge fountain that makes it hard to hear anything.
We arrived 15 minutes before our reservation, watched many people walk in and get seated, and weren't seated ourselves until 10 minutes past our reservation. The table they seated us at was available the entire time.
To our left was the aforementioned fountain, to our immediate right was the main walkway for that side of the house. Just beyond that was a table with a out 30 people celebrating an engagement and and anniversary. It was very loud.
Once seated, being at the center of attention didn't do us much good, as it was nearly 30 minutes before anyone came to our table. Another couple was seated after us, at one of the other small fountain-side tables, but were given water and menus almost immediately.
I was originally going to order the steak, a glass of wine, and definitely an after dinner coffee, as we were celebrating my 6-months-pregnant wife's birthday. Instead, I just got the burger and a glass of water because I was hungry and excited to leave.
The meal arrived in a reasonable amount of time. It was good, nothing spectacular, but I have no complaints.
The rest of the night was the typical back and forth with a super busy waiter, where request are delivered one at a time with a magical disappearing act in between.
My advice here, and feel free not to take it, is when someone asks for a to-go box, offer to bring the bill or even just bring the bill.
Also, when you do present the bill, maybe wait around a few seconds to see if the patron is going to put their card down immediately, or spend some time reviewing it. If someone's going to revew the bill, no harm in walking away. However, most people, especially when they're a dining duo, are ready to settle up as soon as the bill comes. Cutting down on the back and forth would surely ease the pressure mounting on a busy waiter, and be more efficient for the guests as well.
Aside from the lackluster service and good food, the place is beautiful. I loved the combination of chandeliers and trees, an unlikely contrast that actually works to create a cozy environment on a rainy night. The fountain is cool, but feels too big and too loud to sit so close. There is no waiting area really, so we were just sort of standing there watching people eat as we sailed past our reservation time. It was kind of awkward.
The folks in groups seemed to have a better experience. Seated faster and in more comfortable spots with bit of privacy. My wife asked me if I'd recommend it to anyone, and I said not unless it's a table for...
Read moreExcellent quality and consistency-that’s Restoration Hardware Restaurant. After a day of bubbles in Napa we decided to head toward Marin County (Corta Madera) since we had experienced RH Yountville in NOV ‘23. Parking was a dream since RH was situated in a mall adjacent to the Redwood Highway. Ascend the three flights of stairs check in, be seated and be prepared for delightful treat of delicious food, wine and impeccable service. At 4pm, whilst the sun was setting, the greenhouse interior was a bit warm at first. Staff was attentive to each guest and moderated the opening of large glass pane doors and sunshades throughout our stay. We sat at a very comfy L-shaped lounge sofa accented with toss pillows. This was a perfect seat to snuggle in close and share some intimacy below a chandelier. Yasir was our server. He made the RH Corte Madera experience memorable. He was attentive, personal and a professional server. He knew when to engage, offered some meal planning and paired the dishes timely with accommodating wines/bubbles. His service seemed natural, not stiff and he appeared to take pride in his work, the experience he offered and the food he delivered. The food was amazing. Just go. Make the reservation and have your own experience. We dined on Burrata (grilled charred vegetables, grilled bread and warmed mozzarella), truffle fries, ribeye and lobster roll (a sort of surf n turf). As everyone notes…the truffle fires are a must have. The ribeye cooked perfectly with crispy ends and tender center. The lobster roll…I haven’t had a lobster roll this good in a long while. The roll was crunchy chewy not too sweet stuffed with chopped pieces of lobster and the perfect ratio of sauce. Yasir by default named the chocolate chip cookies for dessert. They’re a must have too. There are wines by the glass, bottle, beer and a few wine cocktails. The wines were a bit pricey IMO and we chose Spanish wines to help manage our expectations since our car was filled with a days bounty from Napa. Only con…the restroom wastebaskets were small and must have had an automated lid which didn’t work. Guests had to toss the paper towel debris on top or to the side of the can. I’d suggest a larger, wide open top wastebasket. I hope to visit SF RH in 2024 as my experiences at Yountville and Corta Madera...
Read morecame here with my boyfriend for his birthday and we were very disappointed with staff here. We made a reservation at 7:30pm on a Tuesday and arrived 5 minutes late. I read on the confirmation email for the reservation that parties who arrived 15 mins late would possibly have to wait for seating, since we arrived 5 mins late i didn't think would be an issue for us. But when I arrived at the hostess table she was very rude and said we needed to wait since we were late, not welcoming at all. While she was very welcoming to others seating them right away we had to wait for 30 mins till I was fed up and went and asked again when we would be seated. She replied with Oh okay let me see what we have, okay i'll sit you guys over here. She lead us to a table that has been empty since we arrived at this establishment. Which means we could've been seated at 7:35pm when we first got there but for some reason we were not. We are a young interracial couple and felt that because of this we were treated different. The host did not tell us her name but she had red hair. She introduced herself to the tables next to us which I thought was strange since she refrained from telling us her name.
Then to make things worse, when we ordered our food we asked for water, but while the waiter provided water for the people next to us and all around us he forgot about us. We had to ask the girl who came to give us our appetizer for water. For the price RH Rooftop charges for their food I would not expect this treatment. We were very disappointed with the unequal service at this restaurant.
The food here wasn't bad, but very small portions. I got the salmon which was very small, had no flavor and was over cooked. My boyfriend got the rib-eye steak, which was a little over cooked as well. If you're a POC couple coming here, beware of mistreatment...
